What the **** are adverts for. Why do I have to wasste 3 mins every 12 mins! It's to generate money! If they can't produce enough money then change the shows etc On top of that create one PPV channel with the elite **** like this boxing tournie. Things they claim they can't afford on terrestrial channels.
Judging by what the articles are saying, the only people who would lose out are the freeviewers. I got Virgin cable so I should be OK and that's all that matters for meatsch. Let's not get carried away, though, nothing is confirmed. One thing is for sure, if they didn't have boxing then I wouldn't subscribe. You think I wanna pay for **** I don't watch, ITV?
I guess thats what they'll weigh up, how much advertising revenue they'll lose by making the channels a pay channels.
What really ****ed ITV up was when Ofcom said they couldn't make money from product placement earlier this year. ITV are now having to consider alternatives to survive. In a round-about way, if this ITV Box Office does go ahead then it's Ofcom's fault! Defies their own standards!
this is promising considering our options at the moment, a terestrial tv ppv is better then a satelite one for the sport, this creates the oportunity for repeats/highlights/magazine shows on the main channel its a long way off though
I thought ITV were going bust? I heard some of the TV Lience will be going to ITV in the coming years aswell.
I saw that as well, I think at the moment its still just a recommendation in a report (like this ITV PPV idea).
