Calderon dances to his left, jabbing. Rivas catches up to him and grazes with a left jab. Calderon dances to his right, jabbing. Rivas catches up to him and gets held. Calderon keeps running and then ducks preemptively before Rivas has even caught up to him, scurrying in to grab and release before running some more. Major spoiling going on here. Calderon is not fighting at all. Rivas has turned southpaw and is charging in with right jabs and straight lefts. thudding body shots by Rivas. Calderon is now getting hit in the face!! Calderon can't decide which direction to run, and Rivas hits him as he's frozen up!! Calderon tries to hold! He isn't strong enough! Rivas pushes him to the ropes and whips him with rights. Body shots by Rivas!! Calderon ducks and reaches out with both arms to try and hug Rivas in close. Rivas walks him into a corner and swallows a stiff jab, looking intensely focused. Hard jab by Rivas! Body shots!!

Round 9

Calderon moves to his left with long smooth moon-walking strides, feet never coming more than half an inch off the canvas. Nice stiff right jabs by Calderon, intent on surviving and gritting his teeth now. Rivas whips him with a combo out of the southpaw stance. Right hook to the family jewels by Rivas, unseen. Calderon runs. Rivas marches up to him almost faster than Calderon can run, cutting off the whole ring in three steps to Calderon's six. Calderon is just barely skirting off the ropes and flipping right jabs into Rivas' face. The crowd is booing him! Turning on their own man. Rivas is marching up like a man possessed, hands down as he tries to lay his power down on Calderon but gets hugged whenever he gets close. Head butt and the ref chides Rivas. Maybe intentional?
