Is he moving up to 112 or staying at 108?

Darchinyan-Calderon would be solid $$$ fight imo

There was talk about him fighting Cesar Canchila next year who's the interim WBA 108lbs champ. Saw Canchila's last fight and he ain't all that. Easy UD for Calderon if it does happen.

Agree about Calderon-Donaire. That would be a massive fight.

Huge fan of Calderon, but he would be savaged at Super-Fly by Darchinyan, and I would've said that before last night.

Hopefully Mijares-Montiel can still be made....for some reason I'd rather Darchinyan rematches Donaire. I think Arce is too easy to lure into a fight, he would be prone to Vic's power shots.

I was one of many who predicted a whitewash for Mijares, but Vic impressed me last night. He seems very focused now. He should rematch Z Gorres as well.

Basically, I think Vic needs to avenge his fight with Donaire if he's to get the respect he deserves. Beating a superior boxer like Mijares makes that defeat seem even stranger now.

Would anyone here put Vic into the P4P top 10 based on that performance last night?

Vic looks massive at super fly.

If Calderon was able to beat him for the undisputed super fly title, id put him above both Calzaghe and Pac in the p4p list.

Darchinyan-Calderon? Donaire-Calderon?? Are you guys insane???

Calderon is too damn small to try and fight those guys at 112 or 115!!!

He already had big problems against Cazares, that ******* came into that fight weighing about 130!
Calderon could pull it off, but it would be a dangerous step imo. But maybe he will eventually be "forced" to make it, to get the recognition and respect he (already) deserves.

Wow. I'd certainly put him in the top 5. However, it won't happen. He was hurt by Cazares at LFW.....how is he gonna stand up to Vic's offence?!?!!? Don't get me wrong, Calderon is THE best pure boxer in the sport today, but he's not superhuman, he does get hit sometimes.....and I doubt his 5'nothing frame would be as nimble with the extra weight.

Vic by K.O, within five rounds.

iwouldnt bet any money on a calderon win, but you must have admit the physical disadvantage eclipses nything JC and Pac have done, he woul dhave to be p4p number 1.

No. In another thread the starter admits he has only seen a few rounds of Calderon......I can't understand why he'd start talking about him without knowing anything abut him.

He probably thinks Calderon could win by K.O!!!!

    Why?

Calderon is top 10 p4p. I believe he's said he wants to move up weight (4 pounds to 112 is where he could fight the darchinyan)

I have no opinion on the fight. I just don't get why a guy who is unanimous top 10 p4p would be given no shot vs guys 4 lbs heavier. Either he shouldn't be top 10 p4p or he would in fact have a chance vs those guys. One or the other imo.

Yea, Calderon himself has said he wants to move up to 112. SO even if it sounds stupid the man himself wants to do it.

However I think Calderon would be too small at 112. He's a midget(compared to the other fighters) at 108 so 112 he'd have no chance.

Calderon needs to beat Solis before he moves up IMO. He's a dangerous fighter.

However, it's the height. Calderon is simply too small to mix it up the big guys, Vic's punches downward would seriously hurt him. Besides, he needs to heal up before we discuss any moving up....and he's 32 you know? He's getting older and losing his reflexes, the first Cazares fight showed that, he was getting tagged frequently late on. Even if Calderon outboxes Vic for 8 rounds, eventually he will get hit....hard. And unlike Mijares, he will not be returning to his stool shortly after being floored.

He will be taken out on a stretcher. And I'm a HUGE admirer of Calderon's skills. I'm also realistic. Unlike Pac-DLH, Calderon cannot be given a chance in a big guy-little guy scenario simply for the fact he cannot break an egg. There are a lot of question marks in Pac-DLH that nearly make it a viable fight, though some people dispute this now.

In Calderon, there are no question makrs; a fight against Vic would see him laid out.

    Sadly, you're right.

Ivan would have to fight a perfect fight, avoiding 98% of the power punches guys like Vic or Donaire would throw at him. He could put up a clinic for 11 rounds, and then get knocked out by a single power punch in the end. Too tough of a fight for little Calderon.

Calderon would be completely overwhelmed within a couple of rounds by either Donaire or Darchinyan.
