I'm getting the same bad feeling about this fight as I did in the Román-SSR rematch. I think we may see Lomachenko knocked out on Saturday night. I also had the same feeling heading into Pacquiao-Marquez IV and Donaire-Walters, so 3 for 3 when it comes to bad feeling fights.
I hope I'm wrong because I think Lomachenko still has a lot he can do like clean out 135 or beat Teofimo's ass in a rematch. I like Nakatani, but rooting for Lomachenko.
Well if that happens it happens… It will just further demonstrate that Loma is neither a lightweight, is long passed his best days & the injuries etc have caught up to him.. I won't actually be overly shocked ..
People don't take into account that Nakatani on top of being huge is also getting better fight by fight.
He took some serious injuries from Verdejo, it's possible that will be the peak of his career. He's not young himself. If not though and he keeps improving this could be very interessting. I can see something surprising happening certainly.
If Nakatani were younger I'd be afraid, but he's not a spring chicken himself in boxing years. Plus, lightweight on down? There are no soft touches in Japan (or Thailand or Philippines, for that matter), where he has spent almost the entirety of his career. He may be a bit more shopworn than people suspect.
Loma is finished. He squandered his best years away fighting for plastic trophies in the amateurs. If its not Nakatomi who does him in, one of these young up and coming brothers will do it MARK MY WORDS
This fight will tell us a lot about Loma, if he clowns Nakatani and stops him then we'll know hes still got it. I'm just afraid Loma has had one injury too many, it must affect him mentally as well, I think he injured his shoulder in hi last 3 fights.
