As far as I'm concerned AJ has yet to be dropped but we can't say the same for Wilder

Anthony Joshua will be closer to the next Lennox Lewis than the next David Price.

I think AJ has already proved he is better than Price. AJ is faster, was a better amateur, actually knows how to throw a jab and dealt with Skelton more comfortably.

But that doesn't mean he will achieve more than Price has so far, I wouldn't favour AJ over Thompson if they fought soon. The same questions that were unanswered with Price have not been answered with AJ.

Joshua hasn't shown us a good defence as his opposition so far have basically been there for target practice. He hasn't shown us how he would cope with pressure, if he knows how to clinch effectively or if he has a good chin or the stamina to go 12 hard rounds.

The potential is there but potential can be wasted by making poor decisions. Look at Khan, tremendous potential, crazy athleticism yet for 7 years he has under achieved and only in his last fight did he fight in a manner than suited his style, same with Wlad, tremendous potential as an amateur but fought like an idiot, took him 3 KO losses before he got it right and hooked up with a good trainer and listened to his advice.

I've seen nothing from Tony Sims as AJ's trainer to suggest he is making improvements in AJ where AJ is weak, which makes me doubt AJ can currently reach his potential. We may see AJ lose before we see him learn to fix his flaws, that's the problem with young fighters who have a ton of natural talent, there is a tendency to live off that talent and not hone your craft.

    Think this is bang on.

The problem is because he's going through these guys who knows what the guy has to work on. Just like Price does he have to lose first before his coaches know. Sparring with Wlad probably highlighted some areas.

He was looking a little full of himself after the fight on Saturday. I just hope he doesn't do an Audley and think he's cracked this boxing thing. Ahh time will tell.

Joshua's last win was as good as any of Wilder's and he's only had a fraction of the pro fights Wilder's had.

AJ needs to be in with someone who has similar attributes, but having sparred Haye, Wlad, Chisora, and Fury and fared well he's clearly no joke. All of those are legit punchers and he took their best......Price on the other hand has a HUGE right hand, but can't take one on the chops.
