ali would work on the outside and pop a klitschko all night with one-two's. ali's best ploy with large heavyweights was to make them do the chasing and when they tire, land combinations. the big guys simply do not have the stamina to last with ali - who fought countless 15 round bouts giving his all.

ali would most also do the same to lewis IMO who would be outpointed by a landslide by ali + an old lewis was on the verge of beating vitali.

Ali would dance around them unbelievably quick, he could tie their shoe-laces together before either of those cave-men could swing their sledge-hammer, right fists. Ali would beat Wald by late KO, and Vitaly by wide UD.

 

Prime vs. Prime

Ali close decision or very late TKO Wlad--Very tough matchup for Ali. A 6'7'' puncher who can box and move like Wlad will be a tall order for anyone. Pretty hard to outbox a guy like that but Ali would pull it off in dramatic fashion. A late stoppage is possible for Ali. Trying to chase a slick Ali around for 15 rounds would be hell.

Ali Wide UD Vitali--Way too much speed for Vitali IMO. He can move the whole fight. Very bad matchup for Vitali. He would do better against a Foreman/Tyson type fighter who wants to brawl and is right in front of him so he can counter and not have to chase.

Post-exile Ali

Wlad competitive UD or late TKO Ali--Ali became a pretty stationary target. Laying on the ropes against Foreman's wide and sloppy punches is one thing but doing the same with Wlad's straight shots would be a bad idea. Wlad's feasts on hws who stand in his punch zone. Ali seemed to lack the constant workrate as well. His clinching and intelligence will make this a competitve fight as long as it lasts though.

Ali Close UD Vitali--Even this version of Ali is a bad style matchup for Vitali. Ali could spoil Vitali's offense by clinching very effectively. Short offensive bursts by Ali would be good enough to win a very physical and dirty fight.

ali would get ktfo even by '03 lewis. he is so open for punches, and yes he could get knocked out against sanders, of course not every time, but 3/10. wlad probably wins 8/10 against sanders, but sanders that night had perfect timing and wlad never got in the fight. vitali hasn't even lost 10 rounds in his professional career, that makes you think ali wins 8 in one fight?

 

Terrell was 6'6". Ali took 14 of 15 rounds from him. Easily.

Again...Ali was 6'3", with an 80" reach. If Sanders can reach him, Ali sure as hell can, and do so repeatedly.

the ali camp isn't better either. ali was lucky in his career. he was in a couple of situations that where on the edge and could have have easily gone the other way. the fight with jones was close, he was basically knocked out by cooper but had a longer recovery time and got to smell adrenaline or something. he never had a rematch with foreman which would have probably won. he was lucky he didn't get knocked out by shavers in the 2nd. you ali hailers probably even think 1980 ali knocks vitali out.
