Wlad does not have lousy stamina, infact, he has the best of any top hw right now. Threw more than 500 punches against sam peter while boxing and moving the whole fight. Averaged over 70 punches per round in the brewster rematch and didn't look like he broke a sweat.

You make fun of his chin but styles make fights. Sam Peter fought the perfect style against wlad. He didn't box. Just came forward throwing roundhouse shots. Pressure, pressure and more pressure. THat's the key to beating Wlad. Sam showed an iron chin and a lot of heart in that fight too. Ali had a great chin but his style is more of a stalking boxer like Wlad. It would much more difficult for Ali to inflict damage on Wlad becasue he isn't going to take the chances Peter did. Wlad's size, foot movement, and handspeed will cause some problems for a prime Ali.

But I do agree Ali figures Wlad out a wins a competitive UD or late stoppage. While Wlad never faced anything close to Ali, Ali never faced a 6-7 monster power puncher who moves, boxes, and throws devastating straight shots. If you think this is walkover, you're crazy. Trust me :yep

Ali beats Vitali easily though. Too much speed and movement.

oh, i'm much worse than that. i think a 1990's ali knocks vitali out, first round. first ten seconds, going backwards, with his back to vitali. cause i'm biased.

 

Seven pages of tripe where deluded Klitschko fanatics try to convince us the brothers are the epitome of all thats great in boxing. As with most people with a weak argument notice how they try to undermine Ali's achievements as opposed to simply presenting the Klitschko's own achievements as the basis for their claims.

Anyone who has respect for Ali should just resist the temptation to berate these idiots & let this sorry thread disappear off the page.

 

He had, at most, an extra 10 seconds after his glove legitimately ripped against Cooper the first time around. People mention the knockdown at the end of round 4, but they fail to mention that Ali completely tore Cooper a new one the very next round, forcing a stoppage of the fight.

The Jones fight was competitive, but Ali still won the fight. I have no idea why people use this particular fight to denigrate Ali's standing, anyway. Jones was a good, solid contender in the 60's who fought the fight of his life and still lost against a fighter who had yet to hit his prime.

Speaking of not in their primes. Ali was NOT even close to being in his prime when he met the murderous-punching Shavers...and he still managed to take the Acorn's best right hands and win the fight. He was hurt...but he survived. Big deal.

ok, different question: what about ali vs. wlad at the 1960 olympics in rome? two olympic champions, amateur rules. or how would wlad have performed in 1960 in the tournament if ali wouldn't have been there. answer: he would have won gold in impressive fashion. same goes for lewis.

Wlad and Ali would have fought in different divisions. Ali fought as a LH in Rome. So, they both win gold, I suppose.
