I've enjoyed almost all other Rigo performances, but this...

This fight was awful to watch. This is some random short notice fighter I doubt even IB has heard of, and forget won't, Rigo CAN'T step on the gas.

He's incapable of disposing of subpar comp.

I'm happy for Rigo getting a promoter to bite on him, but holy s***. No one wants to watch him.

It's important to note, HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK SHARP. His counters were sloppy, he was getting tagged by this absolute nobody. He wasn't even dominating rounds. Rigo is there to be taken, and I think the next real fighter he goes up against finishes him off.

Normally I can watch and appreciate, or even very much enjoy a Rigo fight, but I think he's over the hill now. 35 is very very old for the division he's in.

My thoughts on the fight. It was awful. My thoughts on Rigs. He was said to have a fight lined up sometime in December. He took this fight at the last second. He didn't seem in top shape, didn't seem sharp, and also didn't seem to have a gameplan, which you won't when you take a fight at the last second. The match makers didn't put the appropriate showcase guy in front of him either. Throw a face first guy in there, if you are trying to showcase him. Don't put him in with a guy with an awkward style like Francisco as a spur of the moment opponent. Francisco's style in there with Rigondeaux's isn't conducive to a fight with action, unless Rigs had a full camp to prepare for the guy, in which case he would have probably KO'd him. Showcasing the lack of sharpness was the fact that Rigs got tagged a few times. also highlighted was Rigondeaux's total lack of infighting ability. It also got me thinking, how old is he really? I can give him a pass for this one since it was a spur of the moment fight, and he didn't seem in top fitness. If he has another outing like that next though, I will start believing that he is really in his 40s.

I agree, I actually thought he looked like he lost a step... His counters didn't seem as sharp, he held half the night, it was just a **** spectacle all in all.

I've enjoyed maybe all but three of his fights including this one.

No he isn't. He's 35 and has been boxing since he was 5. He's slipping.
