Gatti is awful and a complete disgrace. People love him for his abysmal defence, when he should be despised for it. There was nothing entertaining about watching this fool demonstrate exactly how not to box, in horrid fights like those against Ward. Gatti is just about my least favorite boxer in the world. Calzaghe on the other hand is adored by his fans (at least those outside Wales) for being such a supreme boxer. They are complete polar opposites.
1) Calzaghe has good footwork. 2) Good footwork was displayed in the movie Footloose. 3) Kevin Bacon is in the movie Footloose. 4) Kevin Bacon knows Jean-Francois Bergeron.
Arturo Gatti is the best EVER!!! An absolute all-time great!! He was so robbed in the Mayweather fight..........****ing HBO. Arturo Gatti KO 1 Mikkel Kessler!!
1) Mikkel Kessler is going to fight Joe Calzaghe. 2) Calzaghe has good footwork. 3) Good footwork was displayed in the movie Footloose. 4) Kevin Bacon is in the movie Footloose. 5) Kevin Bacon knows Jean-Francois Bergeron.
People like Gatti because he had heart. He would fight anyone ni the world, and fight until his body wouldn't let him carry on. Something Calzaghe can't say.
Mayweather has more heart than Gatti. Calzaghe does too, watch all of his fights. However people prefer Gatti because he is terrible. The thing is Mayweather and Calzaghe have talent, so don't need to go life and death with journeymen.
come on you have got to be kidding me. Mayweather more heart, the guy has never had to display it, so how can you say that? Gatti left everything on the line every fight. Gatti wasn't a great fighter but he was good and his style is crowd pleasing, its not that hard to figure out.
Gatti just goes out and gets KO'd looking for an easy way out, rather than boxing properly. Mayweather is infinitely more disiplined than Gatti, trains harder and is fearless in the ring. Gatti is mentally weak.
Wouldn't it be much easier to take a dive and not take all the punishment he takes. Think about it. He just isn't an elite fighter, Mayweather is.
No. Years of putting effort into training is infinitely more difficult than 'showing heart' by getting up a few times in a short 20 minute period. Gatti took the easy way out against Gomez and Baldomir. The honorable way would have been to try and box like a pro. Gatti is just too simple to care about brain damage.
Come on you know he was beyond shot in those two fights. Is it bothering you that Calzaghe is being compared to Gatti in this thread, there is no comparison. they don't fight the same and Joe is twice the fighter. Gatti was a warrior, limited in the ring but a warrior. Not everyone can be an elite fighter it takes tallent as well as training, it's not like Gatti ever came in out of shape
