On the contrary, I think it was a big factor. At the end of the 1st round Bute landed a good shoot on GJ's body witch made him reluctant to throw for the rest of the fight.....

 

I think his upper cut to the body is the most devastating punch in boxing right now. He just has it down cold. Would be nice to see other fighters who have a punch down so cold like that.
