You honestly do not think that powerful promoters and managers cannot impact how these things are handled? I would say that's naive. Corruption is endemic in boxing, as even a cursory review of its history shows.

Oh, I think it's possible. But why Wilder? More to the point, why would the WBC bend over backwards to help Wilder, when they didn't do so for Canelo when he delayed the GGG fight?

Maybe his people refused to do busy with Suliaman and his gang of thieves?

But to me, this is a side issue. The real issue is that, whatever supposed attempts they made to get these fighters in the ring - which I highly doubt were genuine, and you grant more legitimacy to -- the bottom line is the fights either didn't occur, or were delayed in a way that advantaged Wilder and disadvantaged the "opposition." And that is consistent with a pattern that has occurred throughout Wilder's career.

Well, I think we are on similar pages regarding Wilder being a KO waiting to happen.... sooner or later. But I don't think Wilder has the type of popularity, the drawing power, or the appeal to make anyone bend the rules for him, especially since he is such a flawed boxer. And to avoid guys like Povetkin and Ortiz? I'm not seeing it. I've always thought Povetkin was one of the most grossly overrated boxers in recent years. And I don't think a whole lot of Ortiz either, in the grand scheme of things. And the bottom line for me is, I'm definitely not seeing any type of collusion between the WBC and Team Wilder, and in no way, shape, or form do I blame Wilder for the drug testing results of Povetkin and Ortiz. It's not Wilder's fault those two had difficulties with their drug tests.

The fact remains, in the rich history of professional boxing, or indeed, in the history of boxing since the emergence of multiple alphabet trinkets over the last 40 years or so, few heavyweight champions have racked up more consecutive title defenses than Wilder. That, combined with the fact I picked guys like Liakhovich, Stiverne, and Arreola to beat Wilder - well, that all leads me to believe that Wilder is considerably better than I previously believed, even if I still believe he's terribly flawed.

    Happy new year, hippie.

Rums, he has zero proof no matter how much he tries to dis Wilder. He just wants to show you how much he doesn't like Wilder and it comes across as fake. Now me, I genuinely dislike Joshua, lol. I hate his ****en guts. Why, because he's scared of a real challenge probably since being ko'd in the AMs, and hiding behind a tall, ugly, small ass front teeth having stupid smile having promoter who just wants to keep making money off of the stiff one.

You're drawing the wrong conclusions from Wilder beating those guys. It's not that Wilder is any good, it's that they weren't much good.

Liakhovich was washed up, hadn't won a fight in three years! Arreola was washed up too. Stiverne was exposed as far more mediocre than most fans realized. Overrated like, by the way, Luis Ortiz currently is.

The only reason Wilder hasn't been KOd is he's been VERY carefully managed. And that includes carefully picking guys whose reps are better than their actual skills when Wilder faces them.

    Wilder is not Martin 2.0

Wilder is a freak of nature, he's got that ancient Alabama slave strength likeJack Johnson.Aj ain't fighting him anytime soon, Hearn wants Wilder to age and Aj to peak.

Aj don't seem organic and in interviews he doesn't seem authentic. Wilder will pierce through Joshua's guard and have him on ***** Street. You can say Joshua is the better boxer more technically sound but there are other factors in boxing.

Stamina, speed, unpredictability, strange angles, long, rangy, fresher fighter plus Wilder is more Handsome than the racist Joshua.

Wilder will clip Joshua like he did Liakhovich or gnp him like he did Audley Harrison

Me too and it's probably a first that me, Zakman and Farmboxer all agree on something and we've been probably on this forum over 15 years. Make of that what you will, lol.

Its disappointing that we have so many Deontay Wilder doubters here. Wasn't the recent Stiverne fight evidence enough? The devastating bronze bomber is like a super engineered hybrid soldier. Like those commandos in that film Universal soldier. Half man, half cyborg. I can't wait when Deontay disposes of old grandpa Ortiz, and becomes the number 1 heavyweight on the planet in 2018!

No one can seriously mention Stiverne when trying to add credibility to a viewpoint!

The bloke shouldn’t have even had a licence let alone be WBC mandatory, 1 fight in almost 3 years and that was against a guy outside the top 100, yes I said 100 it wasn’t a typo. Stiverne clearly didn’t train for the fight either, his condition was a disgrace, almost as if he knew he didn’t have to put the work in because he was going to lay down in round 1.

The most fake assed knock out I’ve ever seen in all my time involved or watching boxing at any level!

Obviously Wilder isn't the most popular fighter on here but there's no need to make **** up about him. I can understand the criticism of Wilders level of opposition but at worst he has a questionable chin.If you want to call yourself ESB's chinchecker maybe you should learn the meaning of what a glass jaw is. It sure as hell isn't a valid description of somebody who hasn't even lost a fight let alone been KO'd LOL.

Joshua's resume is worse. You're talking about a guy who thinks that he's fought his legacy bout against a 41 year old coming off of a 15 month layoff and a loss. Joshua has no jab, no inside game and he's stiff as hell. I've never liked his bum ass. And he's a suspect PED user. But what I hate most about him is that he's truly scared of Wilder. Like scared scared lol. That's why he won't take on a real challenger in Wilder.

A 41 year old Vlad would knock Wilder out cold!!!!!!! Vlad would easily knock out all of Wilder's fake opponents! It's time Wilder fight a legit fighter...................Wilder is not legit..................if Wilder is so good, why has re refused to fight all the legit opponents? Joshua hits harder, punches are shorter, has superior boxing skills, is by far stronger, is bigger, he weights around 260 or so, Wilder is around 220. Joshua is not afraid to fight Vlad or Parker, Wilder is................
