Jones - Hampered by a cut for the only time in his career

Hopkins - Had a thyroid problem

    Kessler - Hurt his hand

Manfredo - Was just about to land a KO shot on Joe but the ref jumped in, damn Manfredo was just about to star winning

Bika - Hadnt gained valuable experience on the American game show the contender, where they have actors pretending to be boxers, one of those actors was going to beat Joe after his training there. See above.

Lacy - Jet lagged and said himself he looked like he was on drugs

Mitchell - The ref saved Joe, he was going to bounce off the ropes and finish the fight

Sheika - Was beaten by a headbutt

The list goes on. Calzaghe was just lucky and fighters just kept having off nights against him, time and time again.

You see Americans im not a troll or nuthugger, Im looking at the fights through your eyes now. Joe wasnt good enough to beat any of those guys, I dont know how he did it all those times. A fake that went 46 -0 with 21 title defences, 24 title fights, won all the SMW belts and held Ring belts at LHW & SMW the only active fighter at the time to hold belts in 2 divisions at the same time. Lucky

21 title defenses. Lacy was the first champion he ever fought

I loved seeing that on the net when a reporter asked about him making the 2nd defense of title, Joes face nearly dropped

    "what bout the wbo doiminance"

thats when he made record "defenses" while not going near the real champion at tthe time
    LOL

Regional champ who was not good enough to make it in the real division of mw and lhw . . . End of story.

oh yeah, got a very luck decision against Bhop and RJJ was shot all to hell. Fought shot RJJ instead of Froch to be the king of england.

Thankyou so much for making me laugh - my favourite one is the jet lag one by far!!!

He wasn't lucky at all. He planned his career very carefully to protect that zero, weighing up the risk vs reward ratio of every possible opponent, and more often than not choosing the safest possible option. He got his reward through planning, not luck.

I have high respects with CALZAGHE!:good It's just too bad his two great wins against american greats such as Bhop and RJJ in the tail ends of their career! Not Calzaghe's fault but probably his manager.

Calzaghe is one greatest boxers that UK has produced!

Some americans are just trying to belittle Calgazhe's career coz no matter what they say Bhop and RJJ lost to Calzaghe.

Nevertheless Americans produced more boxing Champs than UK.

More interesting question is would bhop and RJJ won if the fight was done 10 years earlier?!

    Lucky?

Protected is more like it. Nothing to do with luck.
