I've just realised Rios isn't the real WBA lightweight champion.

    If Marquez still holds and can potentially defend his WBA title then he is the WBA champion. All Rios has done is win an eliminator for that title and become the number one contender.

    If Murray beats Rios he becomes number one contender for Marquez's WBA world title. He doesn't become a world champion.

    The WBA are a bunch of money-grabbing twats and they're making a mockery of the sport. They are not the only culprits but they are the worst.

    Marquez is now with Bob Arum. Or at least was for the 3rd Pacquiao fight. I'd assume he still is.

    The belt means **** all either way.

    Even if Rios was 'full' champion, JMM is still the no.1 Lightweight until he confirms he's definitely left the division/doesn't defend for a whole year.

    The WBA aren't going to strip him until he says he can't do the weight anymore, and neither are the WBO. He brings the most money in.

    To be fair he deserves a spell to consider his options without some numpty chasing more sanctioning fees.
