I've lost all respect for Miguel Cotto

Fair enough. Thanks for the comment.

I noticed how the ref looked pissed for a sec when Cotto threw the shot to the back of the head. Anybody DVR that ****? Cotto did measure the punch btw.

I know Cotto fans won't see it or don't like the criticism but it is what it is. If the same **** went down and Clottey was on the other side of it, then he would be called on it too.

I just wanted to see a good clean fight without a lot of bull**** bias. Both guys I had no beef with before the fight.

That was low, or on the belt. You saw the Zab fight, right? That shot wasn't an accident, IMO.

Yep, on both counts. He measured it.

The ref was pissed because he didn't want to take a point from Cotto in NYC, he probably thought he wouldn't make it out of the arena. But, it was obvious and Clottey reacted, so it put the ref in a bad spot. So he was ticked. But he effed up, IMO.

Ok, I'll rewatch it. But I saw Cotto clearly measure the punch before he threw it.

That is EXACTLY what how I saw it too.

Turns out that Clottey was ****ed when he took this fight. He HAD to win by knockout no matter what. He's partly to blame for not realizing that, but that's another story.

I thought that was Clottey's fault for turning his back against Cotto in the middle of an exchange. I imagine it's hard to put a brake on your punches where you're fighting and right in the middle of a tussle.

When the fight was in like the 7th, or whatever, I told my brother (on the phone and watching the fight, too) that "they will try to steal this from Clottey so he's going to have to drop or stop Cotto."

I'm just tired of this crap. Mosley II.

The ref didn't want to get "called out" by Clottey, so to speak. He just wanted to let his BS go, but Cotto wouldn't let him. Instead of manning up and taking a point, he pussed out. Weak.

I don't agree with this, but I understand.

I said the same thing when Peter hit Wlad on the back of the head.

I've rewatched it several times. Cotto did nothing wrong. Clottey turned his back in a semi-clinch and Cotto was quite right to throw a punch.

clottey turned his head and it's not that hard anyway (for cotto's usual punches are knowhere to be found). also the low blow, it's not that big of a low blow.

and the supposedly body slam. clottey looked hurt but when the fight resumed, he looked okay.

    clottey has some acting skills

PS: i thought clottey won it one-sidedly

I'm calm, man. And I've made it through plenty of sparring sessions.

Just calling it like I see it. And this is the second time I've seen this, after the Mosley fight.

Look, as I said, it's not just a Cotto thing -- it's an HBO protecting their cash cow thing. The cover-up, the Lampley BS.

Cotto has great skills and a Taino warrior's heart. I give him props for fighting on. But seeing Arum mugging because he knew Cotto would get the nod, Lampley shilling for Cotto, it just disgusts me and it's the reason people don't like/trust boxing. It hurts the sport.
