In the 90s he was so dominant and so talented.

Some people were there to see Pascal and Bute. They were young and they only knew the name of Roy Jones. We spoke with him for long minutes. After I sent them some higlights of Jones in his prime.

they could not believe that they spoke with that legend few minutes earlier.

Everyone who watch the highlights of Jones on youtube from the 90s become a fan

NO ONE has a more sensational highlight reel than prime Roy Jones.

Of course the chincheckers will be in here quoting that comment saying "Yes his glass jaw shattering is sensational footage, etc etc", but the guy was unreal in his prime.

I would like to ask Roy in his opinion How a fight between him and Gerald Mcclellan would play out .

Big fan of both fighters .

That is a really good question. I think GMan actually beat him in the Ams, but of course that doesn't necessarily translate to the pros.

They both had scary power in the MW division.

Personally I think RJJ would be a terrible trainer. The guy relied on his athletic gifts (and potentially drugs) rather than technique.

he surely worked hard as they were not god given gifts...I find that weird that he was blessed with atheistic gifts considering Roy always give props to the big guy

Hahaha. Just noticed this. iPhone posts are clearly not the way forward for me...

Although this could have been a reference to his PED use it wasn't!

His father was a trainer. He obviously improvised his own style to fit his natural abilities (and applied some ideas learned by watching his chickens fight, oddly enough) and while the Jones Sr. style was kind of unique -- a lot of it based on timing and countering off the opponent's jab -- there was a definite style to it.

I'm pretty sure Roy Jr. helped in training a lot of the amateurs down there and also some pros like Derrick Gainer and Alfred "Ice" Cole who worked out of Pensacola.

I have also met RJJ and he was a very engaging guy.
