I've officially jumped ship - Shane, knock his ass out!

Floyd Mayweather's rhetoric on 24/7 had me on the brink of hoping he gets beat by Shane Mosley, but after seeing the last episode, I said "**** it. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he IS just playing a character." As of 11pm or so, I was still going for Floyd, although I was at the point where I wouldn't be too terribly disappointed if he lost...

...then, I saw the Jim Rome interview, and some of the things he said blew my mind. This guy is so ****ing immature and full of himself. Better than Ali? Okay, don't get me wrong...there is nothing wrong with him thinking he is better than Ali, but some things YOU JUST DON'T SAY OUT LOUD! Not only did he say he is better than Ali, but he went on and discredited the man. "He never threw body punches" "nothing cool about laying on the ropes" "he lost to Norton 3 times" "Leon Spinks had 7 fights and beat him"

Now, I'm not even going to get into the pathetically ridiculous nature of those quotes, because there is no point. Everyone knows it's bull**** (although in all honesty, Norton DID have Ali's number). But, I just don't understand...is Floyd really that full of himself? Does he really think that highly of himself where he'd discredit one of America's most beloved and iconic figures? Would it have killed him to just say something like, "Ali did his thing, now I'm doing mine."? As big a mouth as Ali had in his day, he ALWAYS admitted that while he was great, Sugar Ray Robinson was the man.

Floyd Mayweather needs a reality check, and he needs one very badly. He needs to think about things like...WHY he got booed by his own fans after the Baldomir fight. He needs to think about WHY Pacquiao is more exalted them him despite not having an 0. He needs to learn some humility, and the only way I think he can is by getting his ass stretched.

 

I was always a critic, but supporter of Mayweather. Ask anyone on here who is un biased and not as ignorant as you, and you'll know that. I listed Mayweather as my 2nd favorite fighter on a regular basis. I would look up some old threads confirming this, but you aren't worth my time.
