How could he be challenged? Ali will ALWAYS be held in higher regard than FMJ by history, but it has little to do with the Sweet Science. Ali won on natural ability and determination. FMJ uses a more technical approach. So is he a better technical boxer than Ali? Probably.

Will he ever be universally loved like Ali? Probably not. Ali is the first and probably only guy to use such mobility at HW. Still, if you could magically make them the same size I would give Mayweather the edge.

Yes, this is true. But they will never fight and Ali is not talking smack about Floyd. Ali's record speaks for itself now and I cannot envision any other fighter ever having the opportunity to accomplish as much as Ali(not possible in the modern era).
