According to the Rugged Man, Joshua Clottey is a better fighter than everyone Floyd has beat so far.:rofl

    Well, I appreciate that

A lot of what RA said made sense. He wasn't yelling out random crap, he was making relevant counter points, and he had PBF stuttering and all flustered.

Man I know you come down with it on both sides of the fence with Mayweather. I have seen you criticize him AND still say, "...but I still see him winning."

So I would say you aren't a "pure" hater, but more of a harsh criticizer. That is hardly being on board the ship though is it? :huh

To some of the people on this thread:

This 'if you're not a Floyd fanatic, you're a *******!' bull needs to end. In fact, this whole stupid idea of factions concentrated around specific boxers makes me cringe. If you genuinely love boxing, you'll be able to separate your (frankly quite sad) crushes on fighters from the sport itself. Love for the sport should come above love for the fighter. I detest Floyd's attitude, but I willingly admit that I love his style in the ring; in terms of boxing ability, he's my current favourite fighter, and yet I can still admire the aggressive beauty in a Pacman combination

HENDO... I erased what I first said...

In the context of history he had not set his 5 belts in 5 weight classes record yet. So yes, belts only collect dust, but when setting world records for legacy's sake they are a necessary building block.

The belts are pointless now because he got them all and is the biggest financial draw. Still, he made more fighting Baldo than Margo. So your argument holds no water.

    Queue rant...

    I seen Tony's posts.

I'm not tryin to speak for the man, but from what I've seen, he just has the ability to think for himself.

Maybe he's a man of the bible.

The things that Nazim was speakin mirrors the same stuff in the bible.

A lot of people I know don't believe that people in Floyd's position need to be role models, and that it's up to their parents to play that role.

But let me ask you this...

How many kids you know today with no fathers? Exactly...

What Floyd does in the privacy of his own home is his business and nobody needs to know about that, but the stuff that he says in public is public business because it involves everyone listening.

    Words are powerful.

And some of the things that he says is pure ignorance. Being constantly disrespectful to both young and old, and preaching the love of self and money?

That's what kids growin up idolize. Let's put it into perspective, if Hitler went back home and told his wife, "you know what, all that **** I said about the Jews, it don't mean nothin, it's just me bein a character, I just say that **** so we can get ahead and have a good life."

Does that make him any greater of a man?

Floyd has spectacular skills, but his words are poison.

I should make it clear...ask me who I THINK will win, I'll say PBF. Ask me who I WANT to win, I'll say SSM.

When I say I "jumped ship", I meant I was initially going for Mayweather, and I said that time and time again in various posts. As far as being a "harsh critic"...well, you can't say he doesn't deserve it sometimes, and I have never criticized his skills...just his personality.

he's just probably talking about "mayweather's gonna win against mosley" ship and not "floyd is the greatest" ship.

I think you are exaggerating. We are "on" the TS because he has been a part of tons of FMJ bashing "ducking" and such. If you want to go with Mosley? Great. Mosley is a great guy who I like to. Don't call your decision "jumping ship" when you never were a fan.

To your point, "detesting FMJ's attitude" or saying "I wish he was a bit more mature..." is all fine and good. When you start to say, "He ducked Margarito.", "He never fought anyone good at WW.", or "He backed out of the fight with Pac." based on the facts available? You get called names by Mayweather fans.

Well that doesnt surprise me both those guys brought it to the ring(like Shane and unlike Floyd), as well as being highly skilled neither guy played around with their opponents. Terry is somewhat similar to Shane both what Jack Mosley calls "Power Boxers" Norris could be a little slicker when he wanted than Shane, but didnt have near the Chin and toughness.

Who the **** said he made more fightin Baldo? Floyd? Is he a reasonable source?

I don't give a **** about how much money he makes in the first place, and it's sad that you do. To be honest, that **** is none of our business in the first place.

Fact is, Margarito would have been a much more fan friendly fight.

Now I don't know what YOU are, because maybe you have an identity crises or I don't even know, but I know what I am, and it's a FAN.

So honestly I would PREFER a more fan friendly fight.

So the fact that he didn't fight Margarito and chose Baldomir for his "BELTS" which he now says just "Collect Dust" makes him look like a hypocrite and leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

But hey, that's the past. Today is the future. And right now, that's all I have time to be concerned with.

I think its the way he goes about it. I don't mind guys talking trash, some **** me off, others make me laugh. He took this fight and if he wins and then fights Pac and wins there won't be anything left to say, other than he and his family are a bunch of dickheads.
