I don't know if you know this, but Mayweather actually has a terrific skillset and has accomplished a lot in this sport. He can always talk about that. I've seen plenty of times where he talks about he's a complete fighter, or how he's a 6 time champion in 5 different weight classes. He also likes to talk about all his financial achievements. A loss won't take any of that away. He'll be pretty much just as arrogant even if he takes a loss.

Yep. There's no clear direction here. He's vainly defending a point he hasn't really defined properly, or which is just flat wrong.

iv'e seen mrtony's posts in the past, he criticize floyd a lot but he also criticizes pac from time to time but he seems like a fan of both (he's a bigger fan of pac from what i've seen though). so i dont really consider him a *******. so far i havent seen him post "pbf is a ***" or "void is void"...

 

The question is...when and where do you separate "Money May" from Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? They are two different personalities. Money May gets people riled up to sell tickets and apparently he's got you in the palm of his hand because you're talking about him which generates buzz. Notice how nobody talks about the FMJ Foundation or the way Floyd spends quality time with his kids. You don't hear people talking about him donating money to hospitals. You don't often read about Rozonda Thomas referring to Floyd as a "sweetheart", and that his obnoxious character is a complete act. People don't talk about these things because they are neither conducive to ticket sales nor put Money May in the limelight.

I respect Ali just as much as anybody. But judging from Money May's quote, I don't see any form of disrespect. All I see is just borderline harsh criticism which each and every athlete in every era is subject to. Nobody says Money May has to be a fan of Ali and that he has to regard him as a perfect boxer/athlete.

I think people will see the true Floyd Mayweather, Jr. when his Boxing career is over. Unless I've missed something, I don't recall Floyd causing any kind of negative uproar in the two years he was retired. That should tell you something.

It is done in all cultures... You dehumanize the enemy before war. FMJ is OBVIOUSLY selling and/or getting "up" to fight guys because by nature he is an easy going friendly guy. He never has a cross word for Ricky Hatton or any other guy he beat until... He goes back into fight selling mode again.

Time makes a man humble. Nothing changes a salesman.
