Disclaimer: I am myself an American.

Just off the top of my head from the past few years, some BLATANT robberies in the US in fights involving an American vs a foreigner:

    Alexander-Kotelnik
    Alexander-Matthysse
    Judah-Matthysse
    Williams-Lara
    Cloud-Campillo
    Rios-Abril
    Lundy-Abril

None of these fights were even remotely close nor difficult to score, and yet the obvious winner ended up losing by virtue of being from another country in every single one of them.

Please feel free to add any I may have forgotten.

I assure you it's not proportionate to the amount of "hometown" robberies that take place in the US.

Boxing in the USA is rotten with corruption. It is well known outside of America that a foreign fighter has little chance of getting a fair shake if it goes to the score cards.

Excellent post by OP. The time has come for pro scoring rules to be overhauled, more clearly and effectively defined, and constantly enforced. Judges need to be reviewed and audited.

Only by implementing the above will technical boxers such as Abril, Oquendo, etc., stop being robbed.

Part of the reason is most of the mainstream fights happen in the US.

Back in the early 2000 when Ottke was winning fights in Germany a lot of people was saying it's not good in Germany. Same as Japan, Thailand, South Africa etc etc.

How many mainstream fights between skinny dudes from Thailand and Philippines have you seen or given attention too. None. Lot of robberies there happen as well.

    It's not new people.

Name them. I know all about Ottke but he's not fighting anymore. Show me these robberies happening now in other countries. You can start with Sturm-Macklin.

I don't think it's that bad you should live in England or Germany, then you would be going mental!

As an outsider (Brit) I see places like Texas as being a joke, but this **** goes on everywhere. It is amazing though that it goes unchecked. I mean if you did the same thing in say football or athletics there would be an absolute **** storm in the press, but boxing it's just accepted.

The sport needs to be shaken up badly imo, I just can't see where it is going to come from.

    Lol @ mentioning Judah-Matthysse.

  13. Germany is the worst. In Germany,if you don't kill your opponent it doesn't count.

Bernard got a fair shake at Canada, you could even argue for a draw at the first fight. Germany & US are :admin when it comes to judges
