I've said it once and I'll say it again...the US is the WORST place to fight

Cut him some slack. He contributes more than almost anyone on the amateur forum and the technical threads.

Bad decisions happen everywhere. The US has a higher percentage of legitimate fights than Germany and Great Britain and it is not even close. The only square fights in Germany are K2 fights.

The biggest problem commissions in the US are texas and california.

Oh wait, you're right, I got confused because it was on the same card as the main event in Mexico. Regardless, my point stands.

They do in Germany or Great Britain? How about Montreal where the ref practically picked Bute up of the canvas to hold up his hand? Bute's fans are such douches they can't acknowledge obvious corruption when its right in front of them,

Dirrell appartently needed to shoot Froch dead on the spot to get a decision and he was fouled 15 to 20 times with no warnings.

What about a non Japanese based fighter fighting in a Japanese world title fight? You ever see any of these fights? Tell me the foreign fighter can win on the cards?

    here's a challenge.

name a fight where the traveling (and non-moneyed) underdog/challenger won a decision.

    Geale-Sylvester in Germany was mentioned.
    Bradley-Witter in England.
    Calzaghe-Hopkins in the US.
    Hopkins-Pascal in Canada.

    others?

Ironically, a few decades ago Great Britain had an international reputation for being one of the fairest nations for fights. A foreign boxer could fight against a local in GB and expect reasonable treatment from officials.

It probably would have been a robbery even if held in the USA, though. That's because the officials would have felt heavy pressure to favor the "A" side, which was Rios.

There are probably some specific people behind some of the worst examples. Britain and Germany have become overpopulated with hometown fighters with fringe titles with no intentions of ever fighting serious competition. Calzaghe, Ottke, Sturm and others. The promoters behind these guys pull some ugly strings. God Bless Hatton for going out with a bang and leaving it all in the ring. I get the feeling the national level fights in GB are more often properly officiated than the world level fights.

Money is universal. If I can get robbed in america, I can be robbed anywhere. Funny thing is, it's not limited to boxing.
