    Why?

I find Sukhotsky's loss to White a real enigma. We're talking about a come forward pressure fighter with some power going against one of the weakest chins that's snuck into the top 20 of any weightclass in a while. Guy was down three times in 2 minutes against Don George.

Didn't just lose to him, was dominated looking at the cards. Wasn't this the only time he fought out of Russia besides Braehmer? Jet lag? I don't know.

    Opinions welcome.

I've not seen him fight yet, if he has speed he will trouble Adonis.
If he has power and speed, Adonis may be in more trouble.

Negative on speed, flat flooted and somewhat wide from what I'm gathering.

Then again, look at Fonfora...

Supposedly it was 115 degrees in Vegas for the White fight and Sukhotsky who's from very not hot Russia, may have been dehydrated or at least effected by the intense heat. And the Braehmer fight was closer than the scores show.

Didn't he put his foot on the gas in the late rounds and almost stop Jurgen?

Anyway very good info, thank you CST.

Corny White put on the fight of his life that night, it bears mentioning.

He boxed beautifully, to such an extent that his own lousy punch resistance and Sukhotsky's heavy handed pressure (a deadly ****tail, you'd think) were non-factors.

He hurt Jurgen a few times if I remember correctly, Jurgen's face was bloodied up primarily his right eye and he was pretty winded but so was Sukhotsky. I wouldn't say he came close to stopping him but he was definitely pushing him to his limit.

    Extry, read all about it...

Sukhotsky's best stuff was on the body, eeverything up top was sloppy and he couldn't deal with the mmovement and jab of White.

Strange, because he did greatly trouble Braehmer who's an excellent boxer.

Well, like CST said, could of been a Barry McGuigan out of their element heat situation.

That doesn't change the fact that White hurt him upstairs and down, and cut him as well.

I'm not a huge Stevenson fan but he mauls guys, leaves them in pretty bad physical shape. Him beating the **** out of Fonfara's body was pretty rough.

All true. And Fonfara had three inches on Stevenson that Sukhotsky doesn't have. Then again, White had three inches on Sukhotsky that Stevenson doesn't have. (Fonfara and White are both 6'2"; Stevenson and Sukhotsky both 5'11")

I just feel like Sukhotsky, while not as dangerous as, say Kovalev, and obviously not impossible to flummox with athleticism or skill (as demonstrated in his two losses - and the one to Brähmer was legit, thought it was hard-earned for the German) - for all that still might be the overall most formidable opponent Stevenson has faced. Cloud had more power (as perhaps did George and Boone) but is brainless and facing a bad style in Stevenson's, and coming off a loss. Dawson obviously has a lot more skill than any other Stevenson opponent, but he was coming off not only a loss but a bad case of self-draining and was caught out the gate ice cold before he could get into any kind of rhythm. Sukhotsky is better than Bellew or Fonfara - a more complete package than either, with more impressive stoppage victims than either, and more well-schooled than either in applying intelligent pressure. (except that night at the Palms :!:)

I've said I pick him to win but jokingly considering Stevenson's unimpressive performance against Fonfara, I know Stevenson will probably win.

I think Stevenson is the smart pick, but I just have a feeling...

Sukhotsky beat better fighters than White. Mohammedi, Gutknecht, Kuziemski and was the only one ever i recall that seriously hurt Braehmer.
Hes coming off of a razor close decision win in Russia against Joey Vegas according to the scores. I have never seen that fight but recall Vegas as a pretty negative journeymen level fighter that hardly wins a round usually.
I'm not sure what his performance gonna be like against Stevenson but potentially he could definitely do some damage, I like the odds

put something on this yesterday, he;s 20/1 to win ko and 33/1 on points, (maybe the other way around) at those odds its worth a go. Adonis will be favourite and rightly so, but I don't think he's that good and will hopefully lose as I've got a few bob thrown on.
