I'm sort of disappointed in the Solis fight. I credit Vitali for legitimately dropping him, but without aggravating his knee he might've recovered and made it very competitive (for awhile at least). Solis at 247 and at that stage in his career was a good fighter. Rumor is he hurt his knee playing basketball with Ramon Garbey earlier which made him susceptible to snapping it in half going in. Not sure why he didn't wear a brace of some sort.

A glove hit vitali's face. Do we have to rewrite the rule book now?

I'm not going to micro ****ysis this today, I'm far too busy for that, but this particular punch looks to be like it missed Vitali and even on it's way back, it doesn't look like the glove was ever above his eye. So it doesn't appear that this was the punch, but even if it was, it doesn't change anything.

Let's go a step further and say you're 100% right, (this is pure hypothetical), it really doesn't matter, cause the ref ruled it a legitimate punch, and certainly if you were correct it would have simply been an accident, which happens occasionally in boxing. Most accept it and move on, but apparently some obsess about it for decades.

I think the punch was legit but it may have caught a weird angle near the thumb part,Lewis then MAY have mushed it in the clinch he seems to land on the palm part and rub it??Only one camera angle so its hard to tell,i know he lucked out thata fact, the cut saved him that night and even Dundee who never gives anyone credit said this.

Dr. Paul Wallace saved Vitali that night.

Vitali would have been a force to reckon with in any era. I think that is self evident. H2H he would be a rough day at the office for any of the greats, win or lose.

I've never been impressed with numbers regarding any boxer. If you can't put up a straightforward argument for greatness and need to resort to boxrec statistics without context, you've already lost.

Now, I think Vitali is a top 10 H2H heavyweight, but let's be serious; if he fought in any other era, or went through the same resume his brother did, I can guarantee you he'd be giving up rounds and would've tasted the canvas several times. Doesn't mean he wouldn't win, but he wouldn't look like a god beating down on stiffs which is what his career basically boils down to for the most part.

How's the love affair/obsession with Vitali working out for you Termite?
Oh by the way I checked boxrec its still: Lewis WTKO6 Vitali Klitschko. Seems as though history hasn't rewritten itself yet.

    3-1 in WBO title fights.
His successful defences were against :
Ed Mahone and Obed Sullivan whose best wins were over? He defended his WBC title against the likes of:
Johnson ,30lbs over weight ,Williams 40lbs overweight, who just s****ed in for a title shot after beating a thoroughly washed up Tyson., and had recently been beaten by journeyman Michael Sprott.
Sosnowski who had beaten no one ,[before or since.]
Ancient cruiser Gomez, ancient Briggs, and Charr who also had beaten no one before or since. Stats mean very little, it's who you fight and when that matters.

There was most definitely some rubbiing and some head clashes involved... punches too. Put it all together and you got a cut up Vitali.
