Yeah, it was pretty ****ing low.

But it probably wasn't the best idea proposing in the challengers home. He must've known he'd get a lot of ****.

 

Agreed on all of that. Was good to see Nick approach Josh with his hand out, and not slap him with it.

And yeah, a champion wants to propose to his girlfriend on live TV in front of millions, having just defended his belt in a hard fight. Fair play to him - for 30 seconds he gets to share a little bit of the limelight with the woman he loves, and make an incredible moment/memory for them. And the crowd boos the **** out of him because the judges gave him the close decision over their hometown fighter. Low class indeed. If you don't want to cheer him, fine. Just shut your mouth for 30 seconds. It's not like Henderson dragged the moment out - his proposal was pretty much all business, and he shouldn't have been booed. :bart

But, whatever. I guess Benson wins in the end. He's the millionaire UFC champion who just tied the LW record and proposed to his wife-to-be in front of millions of people all around the world, they're drunk nobodies booing him from the anonymity of the crowd. :conf

This is the most bizarre over-reaction I've ever witnessed in my life. I have absolutely no idea where you're coming from. You think a group of Melendez fans there to watch a fight booing a controversial decision while Ben Henderson made a phony, staged proposal to his girlfriend was the PITS?

Are you actually serious? Lower than Tank Abbott mimicking the splayed posture of someone he'd just brutally knocked out? Lower than Shinya Aoki taunting someone immediately after snapping his arm in half? You're a seriously weird **** if these answers are yes.

Young crowd, sauced up... Doesn't matter where you go in the 48 states, they will act a fool after Great fights. I thought it was just MMA until I saw Timothy Bradley get in his home state. But, fans did boo him after the fight with Pacman.

Partisan Melendez crowd didn't like the verdict, and they weren't remotely interested in Benson Henderson's relationship with his girlfriend. I really don't see what all the fuss is about. Yeah it wasn't exactly nice, but I don't know why anyone would expect those people in that situation to suddenly become hushed with excitement then gooey with pleasure that some fighter they don't really like has decided to make a phony proposal on TV. Pales in comparison to when Cigano got booed for absolutely no reason because he'd fought through a horrendous beating for 25 minutes and had a face like a smashed melon.

I found the crowd's reaction to Bendo's proposal more amusing than anything.
