Fellas, is my prediction for this fight as close to what happened yesterday as could be. I predicted this happening quite a long time ago If you cannot be bothered to click on the link below I basically posted this in a thread on 13th August 2009 http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4702037#post4702037 This is just a showcase fight to showcase Floyds Talent. Where he can look good and come out without taking any punishment. This is just a fight to set up a bigger fight. Basically it's a complete mismatch I dont follow the hype, it's just hype, nothing more, nothing less Mayweather by decision... --------------------------------------------------------------------- On a personal note, Floyd Mayweather only looked so good last night because he was in a fight which enabled him to do so. Please do not get carried away by that display of defensive genius. The fact is we will hopefully see the real Mayweather when he decides to fight a guy who he does not hold any physical advantage over, i.e. stepping his ass up to fight Williams at 154lbs or fighting Mosley before Mosley gets too old. If he is to fight Pac, Pac should make his ass come down to 140lbs, I like Mayweather but I am appaled by his lack of sportsmanship with regards to the weigh in limit. He purposely always wants any little advantage he can gain over an already overmatched opponent in Marquez. I am sorry to say it but this kidd will meet his Antonio Tarver one day and shut down this Roy Jones character. Lets just hope he fights a legit Welter next and not anybody stepping up in weight. Peace...
Before the fight I was thinking a UD win for Floyd, but not exactly the one sided beatdown that just happened. I thought that Marquez would have been able to land cleanly as the fight went on thus making Mayweather really pick his shots. However, he seemed slow and heavy during the fight, and also didn't look so fired up. Props to him though, he never gave up even with all the disadvantages he had coming into the fight.
