Stab him during a clinch and hope the ref (probably Joe Cortez) doesn't see it. Poison him in his corner. Plant on Floyd's foot and punch him while he can't move.
:good :good :good pretty much any one that keep saying "Jab" is just being stupid , Oscar and hatton had less then a 17% connect percentage when jabbing at floyd and floyd landed almost twice as many as both of them but through less jabs. Floyd bend to well at the waist for the Jab to be the only answer but when boxing a south paw there stance negates his ability to bend at the waist with out bending into the path of there power hand.
i understand what your saying, but surely he gives himself a much better chance if he jabs, not to say that all he needs to do.
thats true he is practically unbeatable but the thread said to think of the best way for oscar to beat him and in my opinion oscars only got 1 thing over him (or at least he should have having fought at middleweight for a couple of fights ) and thats strength so i just came up with the best way to use it , but really there is only one way to beat floyd and its obviosly not "not turning up" because then your not winning. the way is it may seem obvious, is to KNOCK HIM OUT
maybe if he can turn the clock back on his legs, but oscar has only boxed when facing someone slower then himself. Floyd poses a much bigger problem for oscar at this age . Foot speed is a big issue and even when he manages to close the distance floyd upper body movement and defense will then come into play , following a guy around the ring and then missing him once you catch him will defiantly deplete your energy reserves .. The only way Oscar beat floyd is if he trains for a 15 round fight at a high level , that means not trying to KO floyd but just staying busy or just shoe shine the judges into giving him a point win .. Because a KO win is a long shot and floyd will more then likely be counting on Oscar, to be trying for a KO.
there are a couple of different ways Oscar can win: 1. Land a lucky punch. 2. Jab....double jab.......triple jab......and then work off that 3. take a chance and back up and let Floyd come to him and try to counter punch him (it would probably be the last thing floyd would expect.) 4. train his ass of and do what he did for the first half of the first fight and keep it up for the full 12 rds. this time 5. pray that Floyd breaks his right hand
Remain CEO of GBP. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Oscar is given the nod in a "close" fight to force a trilogy. Who else can these two fight to make $30 million? Floyd loves money more than the sport, otherwise he wouldn't have taken this fight. Do I think he could be "convinced" of the business sense in looking less than spectacular? You bet.
