Thats right. Vazque/Marquez III has be set for March 1st next year and it seems that it may take place in Mexico under Showtime Championship Boxing.

I hope it gets made at the Plaza Mexico, that would mean a solid 40,000 crowd, I really think they can fill that place, it would be a spectacle to be there with such a great atmosphere. :happy

The number of great fights is extending to next year. :good

Yup, another great fight. I picked Vazquez in fight 1...Marquez wins. I picked Marquez in fight 2...Vazquez wins. Maybe in this, I'll call a KO but will not make an actual pick - I'll just sit back and watch these two warriors go at it.

I don't know if they can book the Azteca Stadium around that time, but this place is just as good. :freddy

Commenting on this Israel said earlier that if the fight is in Mexico he hope that it's not in Mexico City because Marquez is much better known may get preferential treatment. Although Vasquez himself is from Mexico City as well, the Marquez brothers are much better known.

I cant wait for this one. Even my wife (NOT....I REPEAT NOT!!! a boxing fan) even enjoyed their last fight. The third one will be just as good as the first two. These two were MADE for each other.

It most likely would have happened in fight 2......
....the stoppage in that fight with Marquez stunned but fully alert was a complete joke......
.....anybody who tuned in to see Peter McCline, Peter was hurt much, much worse, and was given a chance to compete. He recovered, and went on to box the pants off of McCline.

It was just a pity that Marquez-Izzy was'nt decided by the fighters, but with a quick trigger to stop a world class and meaningful fight!

For Christ sake, Marquez was fully alert, still with his hands in a high defensive guard no less!:-(

Let the fighters settle it in the ring!:deal

Well if the fight would have continued it would have been stopped on cuts in Rafa's favor one or two rounds later. Izzy had very bad cuts on both his eye brows, it was just a matter of time.

It was headed to be one of those classics talked about for all-time.
It was give and take with each fighter taking turns hurting eachother, reminicent of Corrales-Castillo, but instead of the fighters settleling it, the ref decides to settle it himself!:-(

Izzy was dominating that fight by far, Marquez was confused from the sound of the 1st round bell, Izzy kept coming forward and setting the pace, yeah Marquez was able to hold his own in certain moments but again Izzy set the pace. Marquez was on the verge of getting KTFO the ref maybe saved a few more fights for Marquez's career.

Either way History shows that the winner in the second fight of a trilogy is more likely to win the rubber match.

Vasquez by TKO :happy :happy :happy

Really? I thought Marquez was holding his own very well. His mistakes were in his defence and the will to trade when he didn't need to. Izzy did a great job finding the spot over Rafa's right hand and taking the fight to Marquez, but by no means it was a one sided bout.

Vazquez hurt Marquez in the third with a great left hook but Rafa came back to give Izzy some serious damage, the cuts over his eyes happened in this round.

IMO Marquez would have taken the win if he had just watched out for the left hook, which I am sure will be taken care of in the next fight.

And regarding that history thing about trilogies, nothing is certain or abolute.

But dang, March 1st is too far off.

Vazquez dominating? If I'm not mistaken, I believe the judges had Marquez ahead at the time of stoppage!
