    Round 10

Brähmer is dancing in and out scoring with the right jab on the face. Oliveira dives in through a 1-2 and holds. Oliveira rows out his left jab and steps to his left before moving in and tying up. Brähmer lands a flush right jab and straps Oliveira across the back of the neck with his left arm throwing in the cross as Oliveira jumps in to hold. Brähmer shakes off the clinch with a left uppercut downstairs. Oliveira down. He beats the count shortly before the bell. He argues Brähmer hit low.

    10-8 Brähmer

    100-89 Brähmer

    Round 11

Brähmer is whipping Oliveira with the counter left hand after spacing himself out and waiting in ambush. Oliveira is dashing in hoping to duck the jab at the last second and get near enough to grab Brähmer around the waist. Oliveira switches tacks and tries faking the jab and leaping in with left hooks. Brähmer knocks them aside with right arm parries and then flicks out the jab into Oliveira's face all in a continuation of the same motion.

    10-9 Brähmer

    110-98 Brähmer

And in the pantheon of championship fighters from Pottawatomi(e), Jess Willard still stands alone.

    Round 12

Brähmer is jabbing and then putting Oliveira into a headlock as he dives in and grabs. Brähmer is shoving into Oliveira as the ref comes in and separates them every few seconds. Brähmer is refusing to give up ring generalship, standing stock still when Oliveira leans in on him and advancing when Oliveira retreats. As a result Brähmer walks onto a big right hand but shakes it off and keeps pressing in. Oliveira has nothing to follow up. Brähmer is jabbing in and gets held. Oliveira steps back and puts a combination together, left hooks and right hands. Now it's Brähmer holding. Oliveira rests in the clinch, steps out, lets a power combo go, and covers up to reset while letting Brähmer grab him.

    10-9 Oliveira

    119-108 Brähmer

Way too close, even the pair of 117-110.

What the hell was the French guy watching? That fight was a shutout, unless one felt obligated to give Oliveira a sympathy round. And I was rooting for the guy lol.

Pretty much total dominance til a few moments in 12 - cards closer than I'd have 'em but Oliveira just ain't on the top tier skill-wise. He's got the strength and stamina to continue to win some fights, but I don't see him as a serious player in the present LHW division.

Just a coupla questions over Braehmers stamina towards the end - I don't think he's likely to be ringing GYM or ME in a hurry, but he can still definitely remain one of the top European 175ers.

I scored the fight for Braehmer, 10-2 rounds, 118-109 points, giving Oliveira rounds 9 and 12, and scoring the 10th round 10-8 for Braehmer after Oliveira inexplicably took a knee appropos of nothing (good job by referee Caiz Jr to rule a knockdown). The first 6 rounds, Braehmer in cruise control, using his jab, potshot left hands, and occasional combinations, all the while showing good movement while keeping distance from Oliveira's right hand. Oliveira, by contrast, was shockingly inactive, he never tried to jab, and while he kept his right hand ready to fire, he rarely did so, and when he did, it was slow and obviously telegraphed, and Braehmer was able to avoid it. But then in Round 7 and especially Round 8, the fight turned on a dime. The last 5 rounds were fought in close quarters, with lots of clinching on both sides. Oliveira seemed to initiate this tactic, not sure if because he gassed from doing nothing for 6-7 rounds, but it proved his best tactic, and he wore down Braehmer by leaning on him. Oliveira also started landing a few of his wild power shots. Braehmer still boxed effectively in spurts, but he badly faded in the last 3 rounds, and he got rocked a few times by right hands in the 12th. So what looked to be a 12 round snoozefest turned out to have a somewhat dramatic ending. The two 117-110 cards were perfectly fine, the 115-112 card was ridiculous. Braehmer wins the WBA "regular" light heavyweight title, a paper trinket, but a title nonetheless.
