Jürgen Brähmer vs. Rob Brant & Filip Hrgović vs. Pavel Sour RBR.

Surprised that JB managed to get his weight a pound under the limit.... Really starting to make me doubt the already iffy Brant SD pick.

 

Braehmer has always struck me as a disciplined figther so i'm not suprised that he came so light.

 

And the step-up in class for Brant is ginormous tonight, plus a step-up in weight.

 

Brant is trained by Derrick James, who is also the trainer of Errol Spence and Jermell Charlo.

 

J.J McQuade has a wife and daughter.... i didn't expect that.

This is the only fight from the WBSS series in which no title is being fought for.

 

I'm not convinced in Brant at all... But JB just turned 39, coming off a year lay off and coming down in weight. Those things usually aren't a great combination. But as you said there are things going his way as well... Such as experience, size and physicality(if he rehydrates properly), and of course the German judges and ref. Another thing that doesn't sit well is how he broke down and quit in a fight he was having good success in Clev - That's an indicator of lack of desire and/or his body breaking down. In all honesty... I have no idea how this one is going to play out, given the circumstances it's near 50/50 but I went with Brant pretty much solely on youth.

- JB win a decision outright
- JB wins a BS hometown decision
- JB finds a way to quit while ahead on the cards and win a TD

- Brant wins a closely contested SD
- Brant wins a wide UD
- Brant wins by mid-late stoppage after a competitive fight as the older JB breaks down.

Those are the most likely scenarios I'd say.

 

It's probably the hardest to call on paper. Solid fight. The winner could very well be a dark horse in this tournament.

 

Do you think Brant and Braehmer could beat Callum Smith?

 

Probably not. I think Braehmer would have a better shot, but his body would likely give out at some point. The jab and grab style would cause Smith fits if implemented right - at 175 I'd make the JB of a few years ago a clear favorite over smith.

damn I havn't seen an of hrgovic's pro fights yet I am guessing he has looked good so far ? also how long until the main event lol
