Prime for prime I would have taken Erdei, he's psychologically more durable and can handle a tough matchup better. Today? Brähmer is younger obivously, so I'd go with him.

Well, aside from simply being younger he did not drop a single round (or even a single minute) maintaining full control over a solid contender in Oliveira until slightly gassing out in the last frame. Erdei on the other hand did lose a couple of rounds (a couple, not even close to enough to pick up a loss...) to a lesser contender in Grachev...

So there is momentum on his side (and would be even had Erdei gotten the nod and I dare say even if he were to have outpointed Rodriguez in the Monaco final, since E-Rod would have been stylistically tailor-made for him and probably isn't that much a bigger scalp than Oliveira - and is a super middle besides...)

Erdei vs Elvir Muriqi just popped up on boxrec for Jan 31st over 10. :think

Muriqi was decent a few years back, he returned last March and got a MD over an unknown.

    Easy UD for Erdei.

Yeah. I was just saying that even though neither is currently ranked top fifteen by the WBA, Muriqi could be a stepping-stone for Erdei to place on the list with a few guys on there possibly outbound coming off recent losses.

Of course, there is a chance of Erdei not being close enough to enter with a solid win or even two - since he couldn't have been ranked prior to his "loss" to Grachev with 2 years of inactivity preceding it...and it was officially a loss, unfortunately. So he might conceivably not even be WBA top forty as of right now, let alone on the cusp of breaking into the fifteen beating another outsider. Maybe wishful thinking on my part there. He deserves a break, there is no doubt about that. Hopefully whatever is lined up after Muriqi is able to open more doors for him before his time runs out.

You could be right, shady judging exists in boxing, although Terry O has made some bad calls in the past. :yep

I think Grachev only won 1 clear round when Erdei was slowing and becoming less active, the other two I gave him were very close rounds.

    fixed..
Brahmer is still doing his trademark combo, right uppercut, left cross pretty good but other than that he hasn't looked impressive to me since he joined Sauerland. he looks weak physically, pretty undersized at 175lbs and fades in fights. Erdei i think has not faced too many southpaws but if he gets his jab going i don't see him having too much trouble outboxing Brahmer using movement and counterpunching..
Brahmer should drop back down to 168, go for Kessler, Froch, Stieglitz, Bika...

If Kovacs can make the WBA T15 Without a decent win in his whole career then a decent win over a good fighter like Muriqi should put him there easy.

WBA are :dead though so thats just wishful thinking.

Erdei is a young 39 and still seems to have the motivation to have something to offer, Brahmer or Shumey could even give him a voluntary if they want a good name on their resume, If the B-Hop fight don't happen then Shumenov should have a 3 fight 2014 with a voluntary.

:patsch Thank you, yes, that is what my dyslexic ass meant.

The right jab is developing into a decent weapon for him, I think. Of course, as you say, Erdei has many years more practice controlling fights with his left jab...

Of all that has transpired ITT since your last visit, this is what you elect to address? :-(

...not a smarm-laden chastisement of my coaching fantasy along the lines of ":patsch Ibes you buffoon, Zsolt's face isn't skinny and oblong enough to compare it to Mac's, not even CLOSE! :nono His is more the countenance of a troll doll..like your figurative countenance up in this piece. bazinga :hey" ??

because yes I read all your posts assuming the aural if not visual likeness of Sheldon from that Big Bang Theory program my Aspie Trekkie brother and his friends are so fond of...and will continue to do so until you post a video of yourself Dwyering it up, Mr. Holy Secret Identity Batman (except with the 'secret' part kept 'holier' than not-quite-cat-poo-slick Batman has traditionally kept his...) :bart
