Julio was 90 fights and about a million belts into his career. He was fighting at too high a weight, started believing the myth making, all while the wheels were falling off him physically. Who else of his generation had that many fights? A little perspective, please.

    Excuses................

    16 to 1 favorite.

No signs of slippage one month previous in fight with Andy Holligan.

Never dropped in his entire career.

Considered # 2 Pound for Pound in the World.

He just ran into a guy with special talent and very highly motivated.

Even the largesse of the WBC could not save him.

Now, when he lost to Tzyu 6 years later he truly was shot.

If it's a case of Randall being good rather than Chavez being past it why didn't Randall achieve more in his career?

Are you suggesting Randall wasn't good? Not sure what you're trying to say.

Look at that undercard: Thomas Hearns, Meldrick Taylor, Simon Brown, Felix Trinidad, Hector Camacho.

I attended some of Don King’s cards that started at like 3 or 4 in the afternoon and ended at midnight. Pretty sure I saw pre-title Julian Jackson in a fight while it was still light outside, haha.

Say what you will, but the man delivered if you ever went to one of King’s shows.

...an amazing ability to fight Chavez on his own terms. Chavez was accustomed to getting inside and breaking guys down. Where Whitaker used guile and angles to befuddle Chavez, Randall beat Chavez punch for punch much of the time in the first and second fights. Chavez tried to move and box in the second fight but couldn't sustain it.

I went to the card at Capital Centre in April 1995 - Simon Brown v. Vincent Pettway.

There were like 10 quality fights.

Uh no! he was getting beaten up again when the ref looked at Chavez cut and asked him if he wanted to continue and he said no. The cards were a joke, He'd have been TKO'ed if the fight continued, and he knew it!
