He wouldnt need to, hes far more accurate. Floyd would win, although Chavez would have his spots in a fairly close fight.

    JCC didn't dismantle Ramirez.
And was Floyd injured for each one of his fights with Castillo ?
And does/did Floyd @ 140 had more speed than Meldrick Taylor ?

Floyd decisively at any weight, but they would have good fights. He might even get a cuts stoppage.

:deal I agree with this....and I don't find it strange as I would agree with you, I think Mayweather was better suited for moving up in weight than JCC was.

I've always thought Chavez but having a good think, I'll go with Mayweather via narrowest of decisions. Split and unpopular, some people having either man ahead by 6 or 8 pts. Floyd just has too much, he's no Whitaker but he don't need to be.

Chavez by decision, his pressure is better & more educated than anything Floyd ever faced, he would force Floyd to be more active than he wanted to be by slipping the majority of potshots & landing his own very accurate shots.

Of course Mayweather would make a fight of it & get the best of a lot of the exchanges from the outside but with Chavez ability to cut the ring off & force the fight inside I think he`d land the more damaging blows, he`d make Floyd fight him just like Hatton was able to... but Hatton wasnt good enough technically & was beaten up, Chavez is technically perfect as an inside fighter & 3x what Hatton ever was.

The underrating of Chavez abilities as a technician on here constantly is disturbing... cant believe some people actually think Floyd wins this by wide decision... some joker even said Floyd by cuts.

People seriously need to stop commenting if they dont know **** about the fighter they are talking about.

Chavez didn't exactly tear through Whitaker, Taylor, and Randall.

i'll take mayweather here but if chavez can pressure like castillo, it would be a very close fight.

Agreed. I mean, Mayweather doesn't fight EXACTLY like either of them, but you're right on it being a much better comparison. Chavez for me might have a good style here, educated pressure is no joke for defensive minded fighters. The emphasis is on the word educated. Mayweather is an adaptable fighter though and can switch it up, Chavez however, can box too behind his jab. This would be a classic fight imo. I edge towards Chavez at say 135, at higher than that, Mayweather may have the edge, Mayweather has actually gotten better at boxing in recent times the way I see it, which sounds shocking, but that's how I see it. That's not to say he is better now though, it's all about effectiveness ultimately.

Honestly floyd has never faced anyone of chavez's quality apart from a past prime oscar and he pushed him hard.

Chavez wins a fairly wide ud imo.

He was a bit past prime for Whitaker & Randall... more so for Randall.
I think a peak v peak match v Whitaker is a toss-up & he beats the **** out of Randall at his best for sure.

Dont forget, he DID beat Taylor in probably the best fight of the 90s & Taylor was a great fighter fighting out of his skin.... Chavez showed what he was made of inside that night, great win vs a superb young fighter.
