You're basing this on all of the losses he has accumulated against just such fighters?

I disagree. To be the best you've gotta know you're the best. If you're walking around thinking you can lose then you're already losing a bit of the mental game.

I had Marquez winning the first 6 rounds. He blocked A LOT of punches with his head....

Oh, so you're basing it on a complete lack of evidence? Gotcha.

Floyd was a very different fighter when he fought Castillo, though. That was a LONG time ago, which is why it seems odd that people still bring it up as a blueprint. Floyd was really a crowd-pleaser back then, and was more than willing to mix it up with guys even if it wasn't the safest or wisest way to fight.

He's a much more cautious, defensively minded fighter now, and is more than happy to coast to an easy decision rather than get caught in a brawl. It doesn't do him many favors with the crowd, but he's willing to win a very boring, technical fight if that's the easiest way for him to win it. That wasn't the case back when he fought Castillo. I think that he will keep moving all night long, hitting Mosely with one or two shots at a time, then getting out of the way.

Oh, so your opinion is meaningless because it's baseless. Thanks for being so forthright about it.

99% of opinions around here are baseless, their just opinions nothing more or are all your opinions based on facts?

If they are you might just be the greatest poster in the history of ESB.

Shane's biggest problem is still his technique.

He sets his body straight up when he throws the jab (almost jumping up), thats why he cant throw while moving. Also the way he winds up his straight rights and left hooks like they were baseball throws.

A counter puncher can see those coming a mile away.

It still gonna be a grueling fight for Floyd because you know its gonna go the distance and he wont be able to hurt Mosley with his work. We are going to learn alot about Floyd's mental and physical toughness in this fight.

If Floyd can work his jab, he takes the fight. He is favored for the moment.

It's not a blueprint because Floyd won that fight. i'm just saying that this was the only time it seemed that a fighter was able to discourage Floyd during a fight.

Floyd has always been a defensive fighter but has been able to impose his will against every opponent except Castillo in their first match-up. That's the only reason i bring this fight up. It was JLC's mental toughness as well as his physical which gave Floyd problems.

I don't know if Shane can do the same thing, but I feel that it is his only chance to win.

JLC was also a much better pressure fighter than Mosley. He could cut the ring off was a better inside fighter and a better body puncher.
