It's hilarious that the belt went from Weidman to Rockhold to Bisping without giving the two best contenders a chance.

I'm positive that both Romero and Jacare would have beaten both Weidman and Rockhold (never mind Bisping), I said this for a long time.

Jacare has a solid chin and great grappling to counter both Weidman's wrestling and Rockhold's jiu jitsu and scrambling while absorbing whatever they throw at him. His first fight with Rockhold was controversial and since then he has improved a lot.

Yoel Romero is simply a beast who would keep the fight standing and eventually hurt Weidman/Rockhold badly with something, just like he always does. Once he figures out the timing of the opponent he hits them with something big, he finished 5 out of 7 UFC fights, is 7-0 in the UFC and in his last fight he could have KOd pretty much anyone other than Jacare with that backfist.

I'm pretty sure that they won't get a chance anytime soon though, unfortunately.

UFC will try to market the first British champ Bisping and will give him an easy defense, probably Anderson Silva rematch where in case he loses they have their big star Silva back as champ so it's even better for the company. Or maybe they'll give him Weidman or even Rockhold rematch. Then they'll have Weidman rematching Silva or Rockhold rematching Weidman. I'm positive that some BS like that will happen because Jacare and Romero are religious freaks who don't speak English and aren't marketable but purely as fighters I think they're both top 10 P4P in MMA.

The problem with your theory right there is that Rockhold already beat Jacare. Triangle theories in MMA more so than in boxing have next to no validity. Yeah Rockhold just got whooped tonight but imo it was a fluke made possible by Rockhold not taking this fight serious. He'd beat ****ping 9.5/10 just like he done in their first fight.
As far as Romero goes I hope he gets the next shot.

Controversial decision years ago. Are you seriusly doubting the abilities of Jacare Souza?

Romero can't even go 3 rounds let alone 5, and without the juice who knows how he is.

From what I remember it was close but a clear Rockhold win despite a few shaky moments. I'm not doubting Jacare's abilities, he is an excellent fighter but so is Rockhold.

Romero was able to prove the positive test came from an over the counter supplement.
