One contest that I'm guessing is going to split fans just as it has the bookies... Love to hear any and all opinion's from you guys. Thoughts?
I like Caterall and consider him to be the more well rounded fighter, but feel like he may be outgunned here. I just don't know if his offense is enough to keep Ohara earnest. Caterall loves to fight inside, and I can see that being a serious disadvantage for him in this fight. He's going to have to move and defuse Davies and I've never really seen him apply that kind of game plan...
i don't think fighting on the inside will hinder Catterall too much, in terms of what's going to be coming back. Davies' arms are just too long to be punching effectively inside, he needs space to let his shots go
Proper 50/50 one this. I personally have Jack Catterall eeking out a close decision win. But after the McKenna fight I am not too sure, I really didnt expect that the to be the war that it turned out to be. Despite Ohara's edge in experience against better quality opposition I feel that Catterall will be able to get inside his wide punches and land the better work. Could go either way though.
The McKenna bout was a war? I just remember it as a one sided ass kicking where McKenna was knocked down three times, hurt on even more occasions... What concerned me is that Caterall couldn't put away such a basis fighter after having hurt him so many times. He lacks power, and his speed is only good. I think Ohara hits much harder and is perhaps a little faster to boot.
It was bit one-sided but it was pretty back and forth, with Catteral getting the better of it, certainly more competative that it ever head a right to be. Considering McKenna was bouncing off the canvas. His lack of power is a concern.
I just remember the much larger McKenna basically running away the entire contest. He'd try to initiate exchanges from time to time but he has no teeth so Caterall had nothing to worry about. Going to be a completely different story if he's lackadaisical and getting hit by Davies routinely in there. Davies is a hell of a puncher from everything we've seen so far, to the body and the head.
