I never read Jordans stuff but I know what you mean. Martin doesnt look like the healthiest guy in the room and despite the fact that he can annoy the hell out of me the way he axes major (great) characters Im still addicted to his books and cant wait for the next.

Yeah, I dont think Snow is dead. Id have to say Melisandre is going to ressurect him like the red priest did for Cat.

Stannis, though, man, I wanted him to kill Ramsey and his ******* so bad. Ive heard good arguments for how they may be alive but three things bother me: 1. He's kind of a sore thumb in the story. I mean his claim to the throne is obviously not going to work in conjunction with either Snow or the Targaryans. 2. Martin has a nasty habit of getting rid of guys like Stannis right when you are rooting for them the most. 3. Stannis left Melisandre at the wall, just like he did at blackwater (did this guy not learn anything??).

 

To be honest I was having trouble seeing in FFC where they were going with Stannis and I agree that he is a knot in conflicts to come. My personal ? surrounding it is how muted the scene was. I have maybe even more doubt about his death than Jon's despite the latter getting the Caesar treatment.

I think a very very possible turn of events is Jon being resurrected and recognized as the true incarnation of Azor Ahai, true Lightbringer and everything. Dreams of a flaming sword, melisandre's visions, smoking wounds, etc.

There's a young Al Capone, A young Lucky Luciano, Arnold Rothstein, it's pretty damn good. I'm all caught up now and despite this taking place in the 20s it picks up fast during the middle of the first season.

 

Jimmy's mum (played by Gretchen Mol) is one fine piece of ass! She can slap me silly like she did to that guy, any day! Also, I loved Richard in the last episode. Really tragic character. And it was very moving when he showed what the other half of his face looked like (not really a spoiler, so don't get your knickers in a bunch)

It's alright lads, to be honest I blasted through the first half in the first couple of days of release, but haven't picked it up since.

I'm starting to think that 'Feast' wasn't just a lull but it might just be falling off :-( Hope not.

My mate at work did give me a spoiler I liked though; Victarion Greyjoy, a favourite character of mine, gets chapters once the timelines come together again. So I guess I should pick it up again soon and be done with it, although I might leave it six months, with the amount of weed I smoke I'll probably forget this thread by then ;-)

had hard time to get into the first season. Sticked to it and it got better the 2nd half. The 2nd season is simply brilliant so far. not The Wire or Sopranos level so far, but pretty good.
