anybody have any information on his exhibition tour ? i know he faced about 100 boxers, scored dozens of knockdowns and knockouts. he was not knocked down himself. while most were bums some were top ten contenders. it seems pretty good going for a 37 year old boxer , that is for 6 rounds or less ! anybody have info on this ? thanks
He supposedly using it to get into shape and test the waters for a possible comeback. He looked good when he was fighting inexperienced amateurs but when he stepped up to face King Levinsky he got his head handed to him and abandoned any idea of a comeback.
i do know nearly all were pros. he also did face and beat big bill hartwell, bearcat wright, jack roper, charley retzlaff, art laskey, babe hunt, hank hankinson, ko christner . i wonder if anyone had seen write ups of this from ring magazines at the time
