LOL @ the idea of Dempsey being able to beat Joshua. Joshua is so much bigger and stronger than Dempsey that Dempsey could get killed.

Willard had the most porous inside defense on film.
Chris Byrd would have put his lights out in a rd

Price has a glass jaw and Dempsey had a far better defense than Povetkin does.

Dempsey punched much harder than any super middle in history but maybe Hearns with his height was the only smw that could of troubled Dempsey, Tommy`s chin would go pretty fast v Dempsey though!

How many glass jawed Giraffe Neck (* TM ) @IntentionalButt fighters with abhorrent defense and no definite power did Byrd fight?

I would take Lemiuex to get under that jab and starch Willard.

Gawd what a pathetic HW he was

Ali weighed 214 lbs v Cooper and that was him losing weight to have more speed, in the 70`s Ali was even heavier and Foreman was much heavier than Ali, his biceps were really big! Norton`s body looked big also and his biceps were impressive, Tyrell was bigger than Ali also. Cleveland Williams was bigger than Ali during Ali`s greatest performance against him.

Jack Johnson couldn't stop Willard despite beating and beating on him for 20 rounds. You could give Byrd 50 rounds and he still wouldn't stop Willard.

Size can be both an advantage and disadvantage. Joshua does hit hard when he able to control the pace and set his shots up, but he's shown in both the Takam and Parker fights that he struggles with mobility and counters to the body. I also want to add that neither Takam or Parker can punch. Joshua's also has very limited mobility himself.

Dempsey, Marciano, and Louis would cut down to around 200 or less in order to keep the fight pace high, but they also still had great punching power. Marciano in his amateur career was over well 200 lbs, but his trainers got him to consistently keep his weight around 180-190, so he could fight out of a crouch and fire off punches without gassing out. Rocky also didn't lose any power by conditioning down. Parker during the Joshua fight had rolls of fat on his stomach. A lot of the smaller heavyweights today come in too heavy. Most of Vitali's shorter challengers weighed as much as him or more except for Byrd and he managed to wear out Vitali and make him quit.

In an old Sports Illustrated issue Eddie Futch talked about how Frazier was useless over 205 lbs and was a pain to work with after the first Ali fight, since he didn't want to do the hours of roadwork and sparring anymore. He also said that heavyweights under 6'2" need be more on top of their weight and conditioning compared to a big man.

Price seems to be a nice guy. But he's mentally weak.

Dempsey would probably have beaten him at the weigh-in.
