Holyfield was a fantastic body puncher, one of the best. Dempsey probably gets hit with a left hook that he would not see coming. The fight doesn't go the distance. Holyfield stops Dempsey in a war.

That “ light heavyweight “ was 6’2”, 214 lbs and a 34-0 professional who had been fighting at heavy for 3 years. Oh and a southpaw besides. Evander fought him with an injured shoulder and a heart issue. What happened when they rematched ?

Exactly Moorer only spent 2 years at Light Heavyweight clearly he was cutting alot of weight and was no natural Light Heavyweight his first fight at Heavyweight vs Terry Davis he weighed 213 pounds which puts it into perspective. Moorer has also weighed over 220 pounds in some fights like vs Foreman for example he weighed in at 222 pounds.

And it's quite apparent Holyfields worst performance in the 90s was vs Moorer where he had health issues and was clearly way under par. If we're playing that game listing one of Holyfield worst performances then I guess Dempsey's 1st round KO loss to journeyman Fireman Jim Flynn is relevant aswell ?

Holyfield walks straight through him, a good 25-30lbs heavier, stronger, faster, better technique, better balance, has more tricks, is smarter, he can get the errors out of Dempsey and capitalise and it wouldn’t take much.

Agreed. In Dempsey’s time, Moorer would have been considered a monster at 6’2” 214.

Agree with everything here except speed. Dempsey was a fair bit faster imo.

Here you are in your natural habitat, way behind & with no idea what’s going on. Moorer was mentioned in response to a LHW jibe against Dempsey.

That’s interesting because in & around Dempsey’s time you had more prominent big men than at any other era of the division until the 1980’s.

Michael Moorer a monster in the 1920’s

More excuses. Do you think in the 1910’s fighters came in to a ring healthy? Dempsey explained his loss to Flynn…but I’m not leaning on that.

Lol. I’m liking your sense of humor. A heart issue and a shoulder shoulder injury has NO bearing on winning or losing a fight. That’s a good one !! You also ignored my response about putting Michael Moorer’s light heavyweight status into context.
