Axel Schultz, Frans Botha and Bert Cooper were ranked and part of Moorer’s ranking was also based on his high level of activity. Moorer was recently inducted into the hall of fame as well

Which ones? That I thought it embarrassing he had life & death with crack addicted Bert Cooper at the height of his career? Or that Mills Lane had to sympathy stop that fight out of second hand embarrassment for Holyfield’s lack of a real punch? Or lost his belt to mediocre Michael Moorer? Or calling him out for being an appalling PED user (after he proved to himself he could no longer compete with the big boys after Riddick Bowe spanked him?) Or his grand total of three title defenses across two title reigns (two of them against dinosaurs)? Or his filthy, blatant in-ring cheating? I mean be specific, your boyfriends got a lot of shortcomings. I didn’t even mention him getting clowned by a Middleweight :D

    1. Holyfield’s fight with Cooper was hardly life and death and Bert’s corner actually thanked Mills for stopping the fight, but I won’t stop your creative juices from flowing.

    2. Michael Moorer is a multiple time world champion who now resides in the Hall of fame. Despite having a bum shoulder and a heart issue Holyfield took Moorer the distance and floored him during that match. Then destroyed him in the rematch. But again I’ll let you make your comments without any context.

    3. Racking up title defenses is a little bit harder when you’re fighting the likes of Bowe, Moorer, Lewis and Tyson than it is against Carpentier, Miske, Brennan etc.

    4. Lots of guys used roids and performance enhancers and have been doing so for a very long time. Not something I approve of but it’s part of the reality of the game.

    5. He had a head butting problem. I think that had more to do with his fighting style leading to accidental clashes than it did intentional butting. Dempsey used to whale on guys while they were still trying to get off the ground . Allegedly loaded his gloves against Willard. Relied on help getting back into the ring against Firpo. Hardly a saint.

    6. Ah yes the James Toney fight. How old was Evander ? What was Jack doing at that age.

    7. My boyfriend ? Ha !!!

54:40 the start of Holyfield’s barrage 25 unanswered punches a perfect stoppage Gil Clancy commentating "I thought Mills Lane did a remarkable job he stepped in exactly when he should have stepped in."

Holyfield actually had deceptive power he was the first man to knockdown both Mercer, Bowe, with single left hooks. Also dropped iron chinned Tyson with a single uppercut.

He actually hit quite hard . I remember him laying out Adilson Rodrigues with a right to the forehead. The man wasn’t on the level of a Tyson or foreman with punching power but he was no feather fist either

    Holyfield’s losses, explained…

-The Sun was in his eyes
    -The wind took that one
    -He wasn't ready yet

I can't see any semi-reasonable argument for those guys being top 10 heavyweights when they faced Moorer. What wins would have propelled them into any top 10 list?

I love both guys but you can't throw a 190 Dempsey into the ring against a super juiced up Holyfield ... Evander always had heart and a terrific chin but he was absurdly jacked up on who knows what .. Imagine Dempsey jacked like that ?

Botha was 35-0 and the IBF’s mandatory. Schulz was ranked and most felt he was robbed against foreman and became a mandatory after George was stripped of the IBF for not fighting him . Within a two year period Bert cooper had beaten contenders in Orlin Norris and Joe Hipp along with a few prospects while also giving good efforts against Holyfield and Mercer. KO magazine ranked Moorer vs Cooper the 1992 fight of the year and if you haven’t seen it I recommend it. Other guys like Stewart, Smith, bean, and Foster were either unranked or past prime but decent opponents. As I said earlier Moorer was a very active contender who in most cases won decisively.

Fight of the Year candidacy & perceived rough decisions are deliberated on for rankings now?

What speaks volumes here is your biggest proponent is a guy who doesn’t even watch the fights he comments on, in DynamicPuncher.
