I`d favour Dempsey, but tough...such a long time span between them. I wouldn`t bet on it.

When Dempsey was hungry, he sparred for a donught so he could eat ... Ruiz has jelly doughnuts all over his body .... Dempsey would feast

That fool was spooked by Tunney’s power and counters

Ruiz, he may be fat but he’s athletic and has plenty of skill when he’s focused.

Anthony Joshua lost to Andy Ruiz.

    That is his problem.

It should not be any other great fighters problem.

I'd give Ruiz more chance than I would AJ.

Possible, Joshua cannot use his range advantages as good as some greats (e.g. Ali, Lewis, Klitschkos or Fury)

Ruiz isn't much of a display of speed, strength, and power. I doubt that guy could run a 10 second 100 meter (probably would be lucky to finish it in 15). For a 300 lb dude I doubt he could squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, or power clean anything that would be considered more than intermediate.

Dempsey was not "spooked" by Tunney's counters and especially not his power which is why he walked through all his punches.

Well in such a physically demanding sport, any boxer that goes to at least a contenders level is gonna have athleticism that’s a lot better than “intermediate”. Just because he’s fat doesn’t mean he’s not athletic

I disagree, I don't think you have to be athletic to become a contender. An arbitrary placement in boxing doesn't automatically make you athletic. It helps to be athletic to get to the top but it isn't mandatory. Heck, just think of the term "Athletic physique". Does Andy Ruiz come to mind? Probably not.

Wlad, Holyfield, Lewis, Jeffries, Dempsey, and Ali are good examples of athletic heavyweights. Not someone with a big huge gut. Even huge NFL linemen can run fast.
