Since a lot of foolish posters picked Byrd to defeat Marciano, I'm interested to see there thoughts here
I pick Dempsey, it might be by decision , I wouldn't rule out a stoppage. but if Byrd can go the distance with Tua ,he can probably go the distance with just about anyone.
Byrd would most likely employ similar tactics that the equally cagey Tommy Gibbons used to hear the final bell against Dempsey. That's about as good as he can do though.
If Bill Brennan can take an absolutely prime Dempsey to the brink, I think that the immensely more talented Byrd should be able to complete the trick. Jack liked his opponents in the oafish and crude categories.
