I can see Jack stopping him early off Dempsey TKO3, though if Shavers were to connect, flush then Jack would be dead. Dempsey starts to fast for the shakey chinned and lumbering Shavers, though and would pour in all on in the early running: forcing a stoppage after a knockdown or two. Dempsey would have to make sure he's ultra careful for the first minute or so, like he did against Willard. But as soon as he finds the opening and hits one home, it shouldn't last too long after that. But what do you think? :bbb
I would agree with this assessment. If Shavers can get brutalized in the first round by Quarry then Dempsey could put him out early too. Shavers of course could knock Dempsey out into the next millennium if he landed with a big shot. One thing is for sure, that fight wouldn't go past 6 rounds.
Dempsey by early kayo. Shavers may put him down a la Luis Firpo beforehand. Ultimately, though, the Mauler would be too fast and aggressive.
Dempsey kayo Shavers in one round. If Earnie happens to get Jack down, he would get up and stop Shavers a round later.
Shavers dangerous but Jack was better than Mercado,Stander,Quarry,Stallings,Cobb,Lyle and they all rebounded to beat Shavers, Jack would handle what Earnie had but IMO Shavers can not had what JD had
Honestly, it could go either way. Just 'cause one guy had a fairly bull**** seven year reign as champ and the other guy didn't, doesn't mean anything to me in this case. Jess Willard was no Larry Holmes, and Jack milked the title more than any other heavy in history. This is way more competitive than you realize.
