You are raising good points but you need to also remember Bowe was in **** shape to hence why Holyfield knocked him down. Neither fighter was at their best in this fight imo. It was painfully evident (especially in round 5) that something was wrong. So much so that Foreman commented "This man is going to end up in a pine box. He's got heart trouble." So I have absolutely no doubt in my mind Holyfield was not 100%.

Holyfield aged well but my point was body work and Dempsey went to the head and body like an Animal. a few big heavyweights go to the body but very rare.

I favor Dempsey over Evander in either era with the pluses and minuses the respective era's bring
In fact if Dempsey had the team of Cus and Rooney and the equipment that Tyson had I think he would have beaten everyone Tyson beat in impressive fashion up until Spinks when Tyson was still mentally and physically disciplined and IF Dempsey and Tyson were both able to maintain that condition they would have beaten Douglas.

    Dempsey was a beast

In this particular matchup, Holyfield would be 187 as the Holyfield I was using for this matchup was the one from Qawi 2

If Tunney was 30 pounds bigger with the same skills, would you say that?

I'd say that is a fictitious character and not Tunney.

Just like if you said he actually fought a black fighter.

Both like to fight. Can't say either fighter would be strong enough to wilt the other guy's chin. Just a back n forth war. Plus Dempsey as good as he was, hard to envision his style and how it would improve if I place him in today's era.

With Holy I can place him in yesteryear because he doesn't just box well, he likes to fight & would oblige Jack's offensive attack.
1-1-1 in a trilogy. Since Dempsey highjacked the HW title for a few years...he refuses a 4th fight

Power, Dempsey had it. Power and speed, a deadly combination. Holyfield would have to withstand that onslaught for 3 minutes a round. Dempsey's not gonna stop.

I agree that Dempsey beats Holyfield (and Holy is my 4th favorite after Ali, Liston, and Frazier) but I don't think using a 41 year old version of Holy (who went up against a fighter completely different than Dempsey) helps anything.
