Here goes: 1-Wow! The color version really helped here. The round was mostly very two-sided, but Sharkey did hurt Dempsey twice. Once he stunned him momentarily with two punches. And then a little bit later he ripped two left uppercuts through Dempsey's head, and then staggered him with a good barrage. Dempsey was hurt, but he wasn't going anywhere. Sharkey. Btw, I saw no fouls from anybody. No low blows, rabbit punches, holding and hitting, or headbutts. 3-The commentator said in this round that Sharkey was consistently beating Dempsey to the punch. While that may be true, it is not true of this round. While Sharkey landed some solid blows of his own, especially near the end of the round, Dempsey was the aggressor and landed the more powerful blows, and the more often. With the help of the color version it is now clear to see the water in the corner Sharkey slips in. Dempsey. I still have yet to see any fouls. 6-This was a slow round. It was close but Sharkey landed a few more good blows than Dempsey. Sharkey. Still no low blows. 7-Dempsey's body blows were taking their toll in this round, and although I noticed some belt-line blows, I think nearly all of them were legal, save for a couple of right hands he landed, which of course, caused Sharkey to look to the referee, and get KO'd. @KasimirKid? What think you? Also, to everyone in general, should I rewatch the fight, this time in its entirety, in black and white?
"should I rewatch the fight, this time in it entirety, in black and white" Why not, if you can find a really good copy.
You poking fun at my poetic skills? lol Well, I don't think there is a good black and white copy of this fight.
No. I was serious. If you can find a real good full copy, and I never have, why not watch it. Didn't mean to give offense.
I wasn't offended at all. I really don't think there is a good black and white copy of Dempsey vs. Sharkey.
From the footage available here I didnt see any dirty fighting. Another observation is at this point Dempsey not nearly as an effective pressure fighter as Frazier whom he is so often compared too
