Thing is Fox we don't know how many times Dempsey did that. And if he did ,his opponent would have been allowed the same leeway, so it was a level playing field. 36 of Dempsey's opponents were knocked spark out,how many of them got up after their initial visit to the floor? I don't know do you?
so you ignored the second part of the comment stupid? i SAID THAT HE FOUGHT. BIGGER,BETTER MEN AND HE STOPPED EVERY GUY THAT HE DID PUT DOWN IN HIS FIRST CAREER AND NEARLY THE 100% OF THE GUYS IN HIS SECOND ONE(WHEN HE WAS IN HIS 40S). DO YOU NEED MORE PROOFS? UH? ****ING STUPID?
Janitor is 100% correct. Awesome power does not mean said fighter is a great finisher. Dempsey much better in this regard than most anyone.
actually i am not surprised that you agree with him because you are a legendary dempsey fanboy. IT IS FUNNY WHEN I PUT ALL THE PROOFS IN THE TABLE AND YOU IGNORE IT AND SAY " DEMPSEY WAS THE BETTER FINISHER LALALA". FOREMAN WAS NOT ONLY HARDER PUNCHER BUT GREATER FINISHER, PROOFS, FACTS, NOT BLABLABLA
As far as the last 2 sentences are concerned Mac, I am as unwise as you. I have no idea how many of Jack Dempsey's opponents were KO'd on their first visit to the canvas after he hit them. I also fully accept your point about it being a level playing field. I am only saying if those rules applied within the last 50 years I think the big punchers from Liston until the present day would have over shadowed J.D's rep for being a deadly finisher somewhat. I could well be wrong though, I often am.
Then don't choose sections of people's posts, and ignore the parts that don't sit well with your half witted agenda.:roll:
Bro you dksab your reasoning is that if one fighter has a better ko percent than another that makes them a harder puncher. Watch a f*cking fight for once in your life instead of comparing fighters based off of boxrec statistics. F*cking casual. I'm tired of you getting ****ed off every time somebody exposes you you f*ck. Be a true fan of the f*cking sport and not somebody who has a hidden agenda to promote their own fighter. Dempsey would have chewed frazier and spit him out in less than 10 nuff said.
Foreman stopped 42 opponents out of 47 fights ( he lost 2 ) between June 69, and March 77, and you are seriously claiming he WASN'T a great finisher? With all due respect to Dempsey in his 70 fights up to and including Carpentier he stopped 42 people. Foreman achieved the same numbers from 23 less fights. Both logic, and indeed common sense tells us Foreman finished people easier than Jack Dempsey. The mind boggles.
You seem to have some trouble understanding what I mean by finisher. A fighter who knocks a lot of people out, is not necessarily a good finisher.
Which is one of the reasons that being a "good finisher" is wildly overrated and almost a mythical attribute at this point.
