Why bring up the second Brennan fight without mention of the fact Dempsey had dominated him and defeated him in 6 rounds already?
Hard to use the Tyson fight as an example since Holmes was 38 years old, 5 years past his prime, and over a year and a half ring rusty. Me too. Holmes would have schooled Dempsey and won by UD, but the early rounds he would find very unhappy due to Jack's chaotic approach. Larry would need time to figure him out.
Yikes, Larry's my favorite fighter but that's tough for me. Not just 60s and perhaps early 70s Ali but I think prime Louis and FOTC Frazier would be a major headache for Holmes imo. Possibly 1972 Norton. Liston would have been tough too, though I'd bet cash on Holmes.
Frazier is the one guy Larry admits kicked his ass routinely in sparring. I'll believe him and assume he'd have had his hands quite full with Frazier. Although, he did handle the Frazier that he did fight well.. lol
Tunney schooled Dempsey twice with his movement and boxing, Holmes would do the same outside of Dempsey scoring a knockdown.
