    Prime Dempsey vs

    Max Schmeling
    Max Baer
    Primo Carnera
    Tony Galento
    Ezzard Charles

    Could Dempsey go 5-0?

He could - but I wouldn’t bet on it. Charles and Schmeling are tall orders. Baer and Primo get eaten alive. Galento too as he was not in the shape to hang with Jack.

Schemling is really dangerous as seen on film with Dempsey, he was a bit of a sucker for a right hand. Carpentier and Tunney landed repeatedly as did Sharkey. But really only Carpentier was close to Jack’s prime. He could blitz Max but if it lasts past 3 rounds I would favor Max. A very scientific fighter that would spot that weakness.

Dempsey beats 'em all inside 6. Schmeling drags the fight longer but still gets KO'd.

Dempsey would beat all of them easier than Louis except Ezzard Charles, Charles vs Dempsey would be like Tunney fights.

I think so. The only real question mark is Charles IMO.

Baer was better than Firpo IMO

How will we know which fighter is Schmeling & which is Dempsey?

Maybe he was, but Firpo was dropped 11 times in 2 rounds. Jack had a thing for ripping apart the big guys.

No guarantees but Dempsey should be given reasonable odds against all of them. Ezzard Charles would be the biggest threat in my eyes even though the 1950 version ( who Louis fought ) was arguably not the best version.

Hard to see Carnera and Galento beating him.
A slight favorite over Schmeling and Baer.
    A favorite over Charles.

The only ones he has trouble with are Charles and Schmeling but I think he still goes 5-0.

Color of trunks! but otherwise it might be tough if we were watching a duped copy of an old black and white film unless one of the trunks were white!

Hmm? I think Charles would engage with Dempsey more than Tunney did, I'll go with Jack put not confidently
