    Spinks would by far be one of the most skilled fighters that Dempsey ever shared a ring with. Dempsey was about 190 pounds and not as skilled as a peak 218 pound 1988 Mike Tyson. Just because Tyson flattened Spinks in 1 doesn't mean Dempsey repeats it. Spinks, at 6'2 208 pounds (his weight for the Cooney fight) would make him taller and bigger than Dempsey. Plus, I suspect that he had enough ammo in that Spinks jinx to hurt Dempsey. Sharkey, Carpantier and Tunney could hurt Dempsey, a heavyweight Spinks could as well.

    I say Dempsey by KO, but he will struggle and probably get his bell rung a few times in the process.

    Spinks is too good a boxer, too hard a puncher, to mobile, too black.
