    Michael Spinks would arguably be the best boxer Dempsey faced and would be over 200 pounds (at HW) to boot, while Dempsey even at his best weight would be a modern day cruiser and Dempsey did struggle with boxers. Could he beat Spinks or would Spinks get the better of him?

    Dempsey didn't like moving targets. He would struggle badly here. Spinks by far was harder to hit than Tunney ever was.

    Dempsey has the right style but not the right movement or mind set to set up baits for Spinks because he was not good at cutting off the ring and was primarily a stalker.( in the ring )

    Spinks by decision. Most underrated fighter of my lifetime. But great matchup.

    Yeah I always thought he'd struggle with Spinks, especially because of Spinks movement and style.

    Spinks aint better than Tunney.

    However It be a good fight... I'd favor JD bt mid to late stoppage.

    Prime Dempsey is definitely fast enough to keep up with Spinks. It was the worn out-layoff Dempsey who's legs were clearly gone from the start of the fight that had trouble with movers. Prime Dempsey was able to win a decision off of a defensive master in Gibbons, no real problems there. Wasn't a close fight.

    This. Dempsey would get to him eventually and end him. If this were Leon instead of Michael it would be a 50/50 fight.

    Michael was a superior fighter to Leon, if anyone had a better chance vs Dempsey, I'd go with Michael

    Styles makes fights, Dempsey would kick Spinks' arse..................hate to say that because I have sparred with both Leon and Michael, they were nice, Leon is a really good guy, not a genius, but good person.............
